This review is from: Positive Parenting: Raising Healthy Children From Birth to Three Years (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book. It's broken up into chapters by age group and provides a quick and often funny read. He speaks directly and confidently, which is great. Dr. Eden is my son's pediatrician, and it's a wonderful comfort to know that he's right on the nightstand 24/7 anytime I might have questions about my son's behavior. A definite must have for new mommys and daddys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dispelling common myths about child-rearing, "Positive Parenting" is highly recommended, February 4, 2008
This review is from: Positive Parenting: Raising Healthy Children From Birth to Three Years (Paperback)
"Positive Parenting: Raising Healthy Children From Birth To Three Years" by Dr. Alvin N. Eden (Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University) provides parents with a compendium of superbly presented advice with respect to the growth and development of a child at every stage during the first 36 months of life. A very highly recommended collection of insights, instructions, observations and commentary, Dr. Eden deals with a wide variety of issues ranging from building a baby's self-esteem, IQ and self-confidence, to preventing obesity or SIDS, and much more. Of special note is an exploration of the controversy regarding vaccines and the misuse of antibiotics and how iron intake combats lead poisoning. Dispelling common myths about child-rearing, "Positive Parenting" is highly recommended reading and an invaluable addition to family and community library Parenting Skills & Improvement reference collections and reading lists.
