5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful workout!
This is a great video! It's very easy to follow, the moves can be made more or less challenging, depending on your ability, and it doesn't get boring! The sections of warm-ups, aerobics, strength training and stretching are all broken down in a really comfortable format, allowing for plenty of perceived exertion tests and water breaks. 2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing...
This video is definetly not worth the money. I'm in good shape, but the moves were very quick and hard to learn. I watched the tapes segments 3-4 times each just to learn the moves. Even at 5 months, the quick adjustments to the moves (without warning) caused me to trip over my own feet often! I gave it up within a month, and started something else...

The sections of warm-ups, aerobics, strength training and stretching are all broken down in a really comfortable format, allowing for plenty of perceived exertion tests and water breaks. It even comes with the strength training band used in the workout! Aileen Sheron is pleasant to follow and listen to, she's not too peppy or loud. I would recommend this video to any pregnant woman, whether they've worked out before or not. It's wonderful!

I wasn't that impressed with the aerobics in this video. When starting a new aerobics routine, I like for the instructor to tell me exactly when to move (which the instructor fails to do several times). The instructor seems friendly, but I feel sort of left out I have guess what the next move will be quite a few times. I hate that! I'm already so clumsy and scatterbrained enough as it is.

Also, the exercise band is ANNOYING! It makes your hands smell like rubber and is not that easy to use.

Kathy Smith and Buns of Steel 8 are my favorites by far.

I must say I was dissappointed within the first 10 seconds of this video. The three women in the video look like athletic prototypes, and like they haven't gained one ounce with their prenancy. At 8 months they look like I look at three months. I just couldn't see myself in any of them. I felt the video was hard to follow, and you had to guess what steps were coming next. I couldn't wait for it to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally--a challenging pregnancy workout, November 22, 2003

If you were a regular exerciser before getting pregnant and are looking to keep up the pace somewhat, this exercise video is a good place to start. It's not intense to the point of being dangerous, but it does keep you moving for a good while and help you work up a light sweat. The instructor tells you what to look out for in the beginning, but doesn't talk to you like you're a medical patient all the time, like in a lot of other pregnancy videos. There's a brisk warm-up and stretch in the beginning, then 3 fun sections of aerobics (I thought the moves were easy to catch onto after seeing the video 1 or 2 times), then leg work, arm work and abdominals with the elastic band. I didn't get bored, and I think this video is a great way to keep yourself in shape and flexible throughout your pregnancy. I really like it!

I can understand why so many people don't like this video, but I loved it. The steps are challenging and involving without being too much workout. Yes, it took me several times before I could follow the whole video without missing my steps repeatedly (OK maybe a few more times than that), but you know what? I don't want a video I can do perfectly the first time. I want one that engages my brain as well as my body. I tried several other pregnancy videos, and found them thoroughly irritating. They were simple to the point of utter mindlessness, and the instructors tend to be annoyingly cheery. Aileen Sheron is pleasant but not chipper/perky, and builds steps quickly into mini dance routines that are actually both fun and interesting to do. I'd far rather spend the time having fun learning my way through this tape than droning on through something simpler like an automaton.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Moms who love aerobics, February 5, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Positive Prenatal Fitness - A Complete Pregnancy Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video is great for moms who have been doing aerobics prior to getting pregnant. It is challenging, with fairly quick moves, but it's interesting and gives a good workout in a short amount of time. It's on par with Kathy Smith and Buns of Steel. The exercise band routines are as challenging as you want them to be (band was included w/ my tape purchase) and were a nice variation to the traditional toning routines in others.

This video is great! I used it during both of my pregnancies and thought it was great for keeping in shape. It also kept my sciatica from bothering me during my second pregnancy! It was worth it just for that. I would definetely recommend this to anyone looking for a pregnancy workout video!!

I am an avid exerciser...I found this workout, fun , safe and even relaxing at the end. Its challenging and provides a great neck to toe (literally) workout. I will probably do the workout even after pregnancy. I love the band work and the relaxation segment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Big Disappointment, May 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Positive Prenatal Fitness - A Complete Pregnancy Workout [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I bought this video to vary my workouts (I also use the Kathy Smith video.) I found it to be very hard to follow and not much of a workout. The strenthening band is too cumbersome. My only larger disappointment than this video is the fact that I can't return it. I highly recommend the Kathy Smith video over this one.
