4.0 out of 5 stars A must read for the Fire Ground Officer, October 23, 2007
This review is from: Positive Pressure Attack for Ventilation & Firefighting (Hardcover)
Finally a new tactic that is both safe and effective. Positive Pressure Attack is a tactic that is growing throughout the country and this book presents PPA in a direct, no nonsense manner. Chief Garcia and Chief Kauffmann explain the importance of considering PPA for any interior fire attack. A must read for the fire ground Officer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Concept., April 6, 2008

This review is from: Positive Pressure Attack for Ventilation & Firefighting (Hardcover)
The authors have a fantastic concept with the PPA. It is well thought out and well researched. I think for fire departments in the north east that are unfortunatly forced to use 3 firefighters on an engine company the concept is just that. The engine company I am assigned to would love to be able to affect a quick attack as described in this book but we just do not have the manpower to do so. The change has to start with the basics that public safety is #1. I think the only minor flaw I see in the book is that, there apears to be a bias towards one fan manufacturer. I do however understand the concept of sponsors.

4.0 out of 5 stars PPA Book Review, October 22, 2007

This review is from: Positive Pressure Attack for Ventilation & Firefighting (Hardcover)
A complete study of structural firefighting ventilation that covers the history, physics and tactics of fireground ventilation techniques. A thorough explanation of the technique of Postitive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) and its application as a fire attack tool (PPA). For skeptics of PPV/PPA, this book will answer every question and dispel every myth. For students of PPA/PPV, this is their first textbook. Written in layman's terms but not so basic that an engineer won't find something to wrap their mind around. THE book on positive pressure ventilation.
