I have been a fan of Bob Dylan since the 1960s. I don't like every song that he has churned out, but this song is one of his best.

I heard "Positively 4th Street" during my teen years, meaning that the music and lyrics hit me at a time when I was vulnerable, my mind was often in turmoil, and I was forming crucial adolescent friendships.

The piping sound of the organ, the supporting guitars, the punctuating percusssion, and Dylan's sarcastic tongue hit me where I lived. The lyrics caused me to examine my own relationships, especially with people who didn't seem to care a lot for me! In other words, I loved this song as a teenager, and still go back to it when someone disappoints me!

I have too say this is my favorite Bob Dylan song........never included on an album except for the Bob Dylans Greatest Hits Album (and u will look forever trying to find this song unless u know this) originally released as a single and is basically an obscure item in Dylans long storied career and discography..."and just for that one moment i could be you".............."The Toad".....

Because I think Bob Dylan is one of the best singers from the 70's or anytime and best at that style of music

Dylan deserves a Nobel Prize for his literary insights, and opening people's eyes to the Vietnam situation, not to mention insights into themslves, as well as the society they were, and are, living in. POSITIVELY 4th Street is one of his greatest pieces.

This is one of my favorite Dylan songs of all time. It encapsulates the attitude and honesty of the sixties.
