We've followed Matilde and Elian to Paris (book one) and the Congo (book two). In this book we spend a lot of time with them in Gaza, Jerusalem, Iraq and Ramallah. Once again, the author does a great deal of research into the lives, struggles and wartime politics of these fraught lands and concludes: only through forgiveness will these people find peace. Matilde realizes that forgiveness is a good life lesson for her own prideful mistakes with Elian, as well. They both work in dramatic, fascinating careers and their stories are gripping. Together the power couple give us a magnetic, passionate romance. I found Matilde's life in Gaza fascinating and sympathized with the difficult conditions the Palestinians experience there. Elian's turn as a spy and the yellowcake uranium plotline with Saddam's two sons reads like a James Bond film, but it could have happened as she tells it -- interesting theory.
Thanks to the author for dedicating her book to the readers. She scolds us for asking when the next book will come out, when she has just published a book and is catching her breath, but with stories as good as hers it is difficult to resist the question.

i was so excited for the release of this book and it didnt disappoint. The beginning started off a bit slow but once i got a bit in to the story I couldnt put it down. The passion between eliah and matilde and the commentary on gaza which is very relevant to what is happening in the world right now were beyond what i could have expected. This book was thought provoking, emotional, and was one of the best things i have read all year. I dont know what i could possibly read after something like this that would come close to comparing. Bravo florencia bonelli i cant wait for more of your books in english. This should be made into a film!!!! as epic as the english patient

I was spellbound by this series. It gives a different view to life outside the United States and I felt like I was in Paris, Baghdad, and the Gaza Strip....what a difference having actually been in Iraq and to see it brought to life on the pages of a book. Very well done by the author. I will be looking for more books of her's that will hopefully be translated for our enjoyment also.

When I started the first book, I was amazed at the complexities of the stories. Now that I've finished all 3, I'm still amazed at how everything was resolved. Matilde and Eliah were both fascinating characters, although she could be a bit insipid at times, while fierce at others. I highly recommend the series, but not if you are only looking for a "love story,"

I really enjoyed the details and diverse characters. The characters are intriguing. This book has lots of details regarding culture, history and the characters life stories. I would recommend reading all 3 books as they paint a complete picture. The story is based in Middle Eastern & European settings.

I read the three books of this saga and this one is the one I liked most. Much more entertaining than the others with more personality in the female character. Good reading and happy ending what more? Perfect for summer reading
