These index tabs (or tablets as they seem to call them) are simply marvelous.

They come in packs of three different colors: red, yellow, blue; orange, green, pink. Perhaps there are others, and then, color combinations are possible if you decide to go with only the primary colors.

They generally do not tear pages if you remove them after a long period of time unless the page is sub-paper thin, like in a prayer book for instance that has pages that are practically transparent.

The tabs are sturdy and can be written on using a ball point pen.

I use (and re-use) them to mark the references I work with. When I find a place I need to come back to, these tabs work great as they do not fall out. They remain sticky for a long time, so I have used the same set for different references.

Before this product I used pieces of paper, and sometimes they would fall out and I would lose time finding that spot again. A piece of paper, however, had one advantage, I could write one or two words to help me find the right tab quickly. I tried writing on these tabs, but it does not work as well as paper. Here is a product enhancement idea: make them more pen friendly!

These heavy duty labels are a great idea. I use them as separator tabs in binders, not to mark excerpts of a paper and they really work.

I bought these to tab my DSM-IV-TR as it is a really big reference book- I am so happy with the results and now use them to tab the index or other important pages in my text books.

These tabs are pretty sturdy. I use them as file tabs, since the clip-on tabs that came with my hanging folders kept falling off.

However, it is difficult to find a good pen to write on them. It works better if you use a Sharpie. I haven't tried removing the tabs after attaching, so I can't comment on how cleanly it comes off.

I just love these things! I have ordered several of them and use them for a variety of reasons.

I keep a few on the note pad I use in meetings and use them to flag items that I need to address outside of the meeting. Unlike other flags these are duable and do not bend or easily fall off even when my pad is thrown in the bottom of my bag or when the flags are lifted off and repositioned time and time again (typically after about 8 to 10 repositions the sticky becomes less secure).

I keep this in my shopping cart and watch for a price change that I am willing to pay.

Theses "Post-It Index File Tabs" are great little labels that come in a clever plastic dispenser. There are 66 labels, 22 each of Red, Yellow, and Blue. The sticky labels are easy to write on with pen or pencil and, while they stay put when placed, they are removable making them great for use as bookmarks.

These are really handy labels that we have found dozens of uses for around the house and in our small business. Oh, and you certainly can use them to label files too (and we do).

I work in a CPA office, and we go through a zillion of these little flags at tax time. We have tried many brands, and Post-It makes the best, hands down. (The cheaper brands do very annoying things like lift the toner off the paper or tear the paper when removed) I was intrigued by the new dispenser design this year, but now that I've seen it in action *I LOVE IT*. The bottom has a rubber pad that acts like a suction cup and grips the table top so that you can pull the flag one-handed. Buy these - even if they are more expensive - they are totally worth it!

Update 3/2010 - After using these for a year I can safely say they are THE BEST FLAGS ON THE MARKET! You can't appreciate how much time is saved by one-handed flag-pulling until you've done it a couple thousand times.

Does anyone have a suggestion for what type of pen to use to avoid smeared ink? I tried a regular ballpoint and a felt tip. Can't read what I wrote!

These are great. They are a little expensive but they are worth it if you are studying for a big exam like a PE Exam (Professional Engineering Exam) or some other type of test where you will need tabs to flip through quickly on exam day. They are also good for reference books or binders you use a lot and need to find info quickly. Solid, durable, and easy to write on with a permanent marker.
