A flag-highlighter is a good idea, but it's hard to replace the flags because the cover is so tightly attached to the pen. There's no trick to it, no special cover position or anything like that. It's just a matter of applying brute force. Grab the barrel of the pen in one hand and the cover in the other and wrench it back and forth until the cover comes off.

I am graduate student and do a lot of reading on a daily basis. I find myself using highlighters and Post-it flags frequently while reading. So, when I saw this product, I got excited about it and bought a few of them - I needed one in every color, of course :)

Well, I used them for a little more than a month before going back to the "old fashioned" highliters and flags. Mainly, this was because the highlighter would dry out when I still had plenty of flags leftover. And, as someone else mentioned already, it is very difficult to replace the flags. So, I found it irritating to constantly have to yank the flags out and add them to a new highlighter.

Plus, the highlighter tip gets "blunt" very quickly. After a few uses, the tip would no longer make sharp highlights and would, instead, make thick highlights. I'd end up highlighting two lines of an article instead of just the one that I intended to highlight.

For me, this product turned out to be pretty impractical. Again, I tend to do a lot of highlighting, so that is probably why. Otherwise, I am sure that it would be great.

All in all, this product is great in theory and pretty cool, too. But, for me, it is much more practical to just carry around a little case where I keep only my highlighters, pens, and posit-its.

I think that the pen version of this product might be good though...as long as you can replace the ink in the pen, as well as the flags. Otherwise, the same problems would arise.

I work full time and go to school full time. These are great. They make studying so much more efficient.

I was given one of these highlighters for work. I must admit, it can come in handy!

On a regular day of work - I do not use it other than for highlighting here & there. However, when attending a meeting, this pen was wonderful! Not only could I highlight the main points of interest, but I could flag the pages I knew I wanted to refer back to - or show a co-worker - etc.

My recommendation would be for college students. I can see where this would be a very useful tool for the full time student. As far as office use (unless you do a lot of flagging of materials) - I can't say it helped me in my daily routine any.

I had wanted one of these expensive little pen gadgets for a while-I bought 2 of them; ink hardly worked right out of the pkg. I love the idea-couldn't find the refills. I would go back to the regular flags and pens in a cute case. I found out how to replace the flags-not hard for me. But, where to buy the flags? and, expensive for ink that sometimes works-sometimes not. Frustrating.

Great for any office filing and message system.

Being a student, I've tried all brands of highlighters: bic, papermate, hi-liter, accent, sharpie. & I love this highlighter the most! It's a nice bright yellow that doesn't lean towards green nor orange just plain yellow. It doesn't bleed through papers, a phenomenon that actually gets me quite flustered. I mean you highlight one side of a paper & the other side's mirror information gets highlighted too even if you didn't want to. Sometimes, the bleeding is horrible & if you highlight a lot, I swear you feel like you can wring out a soggy paper. Also this highlighter doesn't smear (or so I haven't experienced). Overall, I don't have any problems with it. As for the flags, I guess I didn't use them enough. By the time I'm done with the highlighter, I still have plenty leftover. The combination idea is witty. I can quickly flag pages without having to rummage through my pencil box for the post-it stack which somehow always gets crushed and falls apart on me

Horrible product, the ink in the highlighter does not last, the top is supposed to swivel open to get the tabs and it broke the 1st week, etc..

Having a habit of marking book pages for specific quotes or adages it's now so easy to just"highlight and tab" the page. No more writing down the name of the book and the page number. I just grab the book and take a look!!! I love it.....and plan to buy more......
