5.0 out of 5 stars The best album I ever bought...., November 30, 1999
This review is from: Post Orgasmic Chill [ENHANCED CD] (Audio CD)
This CD was the third one that Skunk Anansie have released and it brought them a lot of critical acclaim. Personally it is my favourite skunk anansie album, i thought that Paranoid and Sunburnt and Stoosh were fantastic, however this one moves away from skunk's rockier side and incorperates more influences. Songs like Secretly and You'll follow me down, show the audience a completely different side of the band. My favourite song on the album has to be either 'Tracys Flaw' or 'Good things don't always come to you' and my favourite moment of the album is in the second verse of 'Good things...' when the drum plays a break-beat in the background. If you haven't heard Skunk before buy this album and you'll be obsessed within a couple of listenings!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Talented Band Out Of Britian, August 19, 2000

Skunk Anansie were, like Amen, first introduced to me via the British rock magazine Rock Sound. It was in an interview with Sevendust that they were mentioned as being a great metal band, so once again, I checked them out. I went into the record store and picked up Stoosh (also a great album) and was very surprised. They are a very unique band, and Skin, Skin is just the ultimate defying-society frontwoman. She is bald, black, British, and a very strong woman, and she draws in loads of energy from the audience at their live shows (go to them, amazing concerts). The rest of the band are driving as well, playing metal in the vein of a more melodic Sevendust. They aren't as heavy as you think, probably, more like Guano Apes (good international hard rock). The only annoying thing about it are the stop/start verses, in which at the end of a line, Skin does this kind of riot grrrl style vocal. This is sometimes enough to make you want to turn the CD off. Otherwise, I think this is their second-best, behind Paranoid and Sunburnt. I have heard people talk about Kittie's Morgan Lander as a strong frontwoman...they obviously haven't seen (or heard) Skin. You will really like this CD if you're into bands like Sevendust, Guano Apes, Staind, Human Waste Project, or Cold. My favorite songs here are On My Hotel TV, Charlie Big Potato, and The Skank Heads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most under-rated band ever..., April 23, 2005

If you're already on this page, reading this review...chances are you'll love this group. Skunk Anansie was a very talented group. The lead vocalist, Skin is just amazing! It's just too bad that not many people heard of this band. I heard of them through some soundtracks that I had. I was quick to check out if they had any albums released and I bought this straightaway. And I have no regrets whatsoever. The music on this album is very good, far beyond my expectations. If you thought groups like Evanescence is good, give this a try. There is a lot of emotion and strength in the songs, which keep you hooked on for a very long time. Although I don't listen to this album as often, I still do pop in this CD at least once a fortnight to enjoy their music, which I rarely do for the other albums I own. It's just a pity that this band broke up. Ah, well...at least they produced good music before they left.
