This is a cute dispenser designed exclusively for use with Post-it Pop-up Notes, the kind that are connected zig-zag style (below, I've shared a tip for using it with other stickies). The bottom portion of the dispenser is a dark purplish-pink. It's heavily weighted so that there's no need to hold it while pulling out a sticky note. In the center interior of the base there is a spring, covered with plastic, that pushes up on the pad. The paper pad is housed in tabs in the medium-pink-colored top. The two portions snap together and come apart easily for sticky pad refills.
This dispenser works fine for me with off-label sticky notes, though you can't do this without a time-consuming modification. To use generic stickies or adapt a normal Post-it stack, choose a stack that measures approximately 3" x 3". The height of the stack is not important since sheets can be saved for later if it's too tall. Separate the stickies one by one, and reattach them to one another accordion style. Then, load them into the dispenser as directed.
The heft of this product is impressive; even though it's plastic it feels sturdy, and it sits still when sheets are removed, so that it does the work of one hand (holding the pad). The only negative I can think to say about it is that it does take up a lot more space than simply having a Post-it pad sitting on your desk.

I wish that I had an office or a desk so I could show this off and put it to better use, but I love it just the same as it sits here next to my computer at home. I'm a huge fan of pink so I just adore this post-it dispenser. I'm always looking for fun things like this that are practical and fun at the same time. I'm really hoping they'll come out with other colors and shapes. (Wouldn't a green shamrock be fun? Or a red balloon? A yellow star?) For me, I would say the Pros outweigh the Cons, but there are at least a couple you might want to consider.
PROS:
- Weighted just perfectly so it doesn't move at all when you pull a post-it out of it
- Surface is tilted/propped up a bit so you can see it better from sitting
- Makes a great paper weight
- Large size
- Easy to use and replace refills
CONS:
- Refills are pricier than I would like
- Would be a little worried that refills may be hard to find since it doesn't use regular post-its
Not only does this brighten up any desk or table but it would make a great gift for almost anyone - a teacher, a co-worker/officemate, friend, receptionist - I mean, who can't use post-it notes? It's so fun, I just love it.

I think the Heart Shaped Post It dispenser is a nice addition to my desktop. It is attractive and heavy enough to serve as a paper weight. Actually the weight is what makes it wonderful. I have had problems in the past with the dispenser either coming apart or dispensing too many Post It Notes. This dispenser is attractive and it works. I'm lovin' it.
