This review is from: Postage Stamp World (Album) (MP3 Download)
Rogue Wave has never been a stranger to crafting brilliant lyrics, which most artists can't even dream about writing, but "Postage Stamp World" is the world's first introduction to Rogue Wave's phenomenal lyrics. A song that deals with divorce as a child, the song stylistically reminds me of something Johnny Cash would write, or somebody of that caliber. It's underlyingly sad, but it really never shows it unless you're truly paying attention. And even though you'll probably miss them the first, second or fifth time around, the occasional lyrical oddity will float by your way only to spice things up a bit.One of the reasons I love Indie Music so much is the unexpected brilliance of songs like this. Most have never heard of them, but so many of them should. A brilliantly crafted song that's still one of the band's best, giving only more of a reason to ride the Rogue Wave.
