The Postal Exam 473 (and the same test with a different number 473-C) is the brand new (December 2004) standard test used by the Postal Service to fill all fulltime Processing, Distribution, Delivery, and Retail Postal jobs. While the test is like a lot of other standardized tests, it has been specially written for the Postal Service. It has specialized parts that directly relate to Postal services such as tests that have to do with route sorting mail, memory tests that are based on ZIP Codes and addresses, and filling out forms that are specific to the Postal Service.

This book is produced in three versions to suit your study preferences. These are:

The Original Postal Exam 473 & 473-C Study Guide -- This version is text only. It has reference material and sample exams with many test taking tips.

Complete Postal Exam 473 & 473-C Training Program with 2 Test Prep Audio CD's -- This is the same book, but two audio CD's read it to you while you follow along in the book. Using two senses, eyes and ears increase the retention of information.

New Postal Exam 473 & 473-C Computer-Based Course -- This is again the same book, but there is a CD that contains both test prep classes and realiztic practice exams, you'll need an internet ready PC with Windows to use this version.

I have been trying to get a job with USPS for several months and ran into Mr. Parnell's course on the internet. First I started with his 460 course which is for a Rural Carrier Associate (a temporary position) because I wanted to experience taking a postal exam ... I scored very high on my first try.

Then, I focused on the 473 exam which is an entry-level exam for several USPS full-time positions. I purchased the Computer-Based book with the CD-ROM. The book is excellent ... it includes many strategies that really work. But the most impressive part of the course is the CD-ROM that allows you to take practice tests as many times as you want until you begin to feel very confident that you will do well on your first try. This test is rigidly timed and the CD-ROM takes care of the timing for you so you can concentrate on the test.

I tried several different authors before I bought this material and none of them came close to this course. Reading the book and then using the CD-ROM is a real winning combination. Also, I called the company (Pathfinder) several times and was extremely pleased with the support I received (they actually spoke good English). This is the kind of outfit I like working with.

The material in this course has been meticulously developed (I used to be an instructor in a technical school) and if followed, almost completely guarantees success. I also purchased their special pencils for taking the tests (called Test Scoring & Speed Marking System) and they are invaluable.

And the bottom line ... I have taken the 473 test several times and scored very high. This course really works. I might throw in one last thing. This is the kind of test that requires practice to score high. So, if you follow the directions and practice you cannot help but get a excellent score ...

The Postal Exam 473 & 473-C Computer-Based Course gives you a tremendous advantage over the other test applicants. The speed marking pencils have also given me a tremendous advantage with more speed. The study guide and cd-rom are like taken the actual exam for the post office. All the tips I learned from address checking to the memory section give you a tremendous advantage over the other test takers. I was able to answer every question on the post office exam with time to check my answers. Most of the applicants who took the test did not have a clue on what to expect on the exam. I was prepared and knew what to expect from studying all your tips and strategies. I would like to commend you for all the help you gave me in preparing for the postal exam. I would like to say if someone purchases your study guide and has the commitment to study they will get high scores. Keep up the excellent work in creating your study guides. I have seen other study guides and your are more concise and easier to learn. Your guides are a tremendous asset to taken the postal exam. Was better than the book. The cd was so real...they time you as they gone to time you at the test. Make you feel secure, It's was like take the test at home.

I borrowed this book and read it before taking the 473 test. It prepared me very well and i felt confident going into the exam. I got my test results yesterday and my score was 79.3. For the uneducated, you might think that this score is horrible but if you read the book, you would know that no one has scored higher than an 85. Not even the author himself who takes exams as many times as possible. So a score of 79.3 is pretty good. Plus, i have 5 veteran points so my final score is 84.3. And if what the author states is true, then my score of 84.3 would be near the top.

But the bottom line is that you want a book that will prepare you for the 473 exam right? Well, the guys who wrote this book know this exam in and out. This is the one.

The 473 Study Guide was a great asset to helping me with the 473 exam. The 473 Study Guide gave great insight into the exam. It prepared me for each section. The tips on the coding and memory section were a great help at exam time. There were no surprises for me when I took the 473 exam. I received a very high score and looking foward to the job. I strongly reccomended the 473 Study Guide for anybody taking the 473 Exam

I had purchased this study guide in advance before taking the exam and did the 6 practice guides. I felt confident after completing the exam, and scored better than I thought I did. This study guide really helps and highly encourage other postal candidates to purchase this study guide, because it is worth every penny well spent!

I ordered the book and CD-ROM and it really helped me prepare for the test, especially the Memory part. The CD itself actually is like taking the test so it helped me with my timing for taking the actual test. I strongly recommend getting this book (with the CD) before taking this test.

After shopping for the best study guide available on the market, I decided to choose this one for several reasons. It is Very user friendly ; the CD-rom lets you feel as if you are there taking the actual test! and the toll free number for customer support are everything you need in one study guide to get the best possible score. So, If you plan on taking the test, get ONLY this book!!!!! I used it and was only two tenths of a point from the perfect score! Thanks Mr. Parnell! You guys are the absolute best.

I bought this study guide a month before my scheduled postal exam 473. I studied the book and practiced the practice exams once a day. This book is worth every penny. I took the test twice a week apart from each other. My scores were 83.2 and 85.4.And by the way 85 is the new 100. Just read other peoples scores online. I just received my call in notice for an interview for city carrier yesterday. A month to the day after taking the exam.Talk about quick results! Mr. Parnell's book is the only way I could have aced this test.His test taking tips are priceless. Thank you Mr. Parnell!
