I was really looking forward to hanging up this beautiful Klimt poster in my living room, but ended up throwing it in the bin! It looks nothing like the photo on this website promises. It just looks as though someone has photoshoped it extremely poorly. The colours are off, the poportions are all wrong, so many detailes are left out ect. Seriously - I'm not a perfectionist, but this poster is a complete mess, and I had no choise but to bin it!

Looks like a random web image of this painting was taken off the internet, upsampled in Photoshop (or whatever), then printed out on someone's home inkjet printer. In fact, I would be very surprised were this not the case. I bought this as a gift for my wife and I'm sorry to say, she love Klimt and hated the gift. What a disappointment!

This klimt's Danae is one of my favorite. It looks so sexy!.
I like klimt so much !!! is art is so stylish and inventive ...
About it's history,Danaë is an oil painting by Gustav Klimt, created in 1907. The canvas measures 77 x 83 cm, is cataloged as Symbolism, and is housed in the Galerie Würthle in Vienna. Danaë was a popular subject in the early 1900's for many artists; she was used as the quintessential symbol of divine love, and transcendence.
While imprisoned by her father, King of Argos, in a tower of bronze, Danaë was visited by Zeus, symbolized here as the golden rain flowing between her legs. It is apparent from the subject's face that she is aroused by the golden stream.
In this work, she is curled in a sumptuous royal purple veil which refers to her imperial lineage. Sometime after her celestial visitation she gave birth to a son, Perseus, who is cited later in Greek mythology for slaying the Gorgon Medusa and rescuing Andromeda.
Many early portrayals of Danaë were erotic; other paintings completed in similar style are Klimt's Medicine (1900- 1907), and Water Snakes (1904 - 1907)
