more people should hear this!,

Wow. This CD is fantastic. After hearing some buzz surrounding the band after SXSW, I listened to the songs on their Myspace page and went to see them live at Schuba's in Chicago. They were great live and I bought their CD immediately after the set.
I heard someone describe this band as Camera Obscura Jr. I don't think that is a put-down at all, I would say that is a compliment. People that are into the Merge Records indiepop sound would definitely like this. Elephant 6 fans might appreciate this although it is more conservative and less psych, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe it's like an American Francoise Hardy fronting the Left Banke? I am sure someone is going to say that is paying The Postmarks too much of a compliment but I definitely think its at least in the same ballpark. People need to check this band out! Good luck.

Excellent debut. This record is a must have for any fan of The Softies, Rose Melberg, Ivy, or Mono (not the Japanese new-age outfit). It's got typical twee'esk keyboard arrangements, but they are nicely accompanied with not so standard orchestral string and horn elements on many tracks. The vocals, all sweet and breathy, are light and engaging. The Postmarks are a very very pleasant surprise indeed.

Nothing else like this... Kinda like lounge music, but so heartfelt and strong. I would recommend it to anyone!!!
