Editorial Reviews

"This book brings together in one place the thought of seven philosophers of religion who are not well known in the English-speaking world but who have much to say that is relevant to contemporary discussions of religion, whether those discussions occur in philosophy or theology."-JAMES E. FAULCONER, Brigham Young University

There are many people in this world that have a stronger background in Continental Philosophy than I do myself. That being said, this book serves as a good primer to the thought of many post-modern Continental thinkers. It's useful for gaining as detailed an overview as possible without reading the texts themselves. It is a bit dense at times, and at times seems almost decadently so, but I think that comes more from the thought being examined than it does from Gschwandtner. She does a good job of laying out the pieces and allowing the reader to put them back together.

Mentally challenging, but rewarding for those that are up to it and need an intro to this stuff. However, if you already have the Continental background I would just read the works discussed on their own unless you want to examine her viewpoints.
