4.0 out of 5 stars Blistering thrash!, April 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Postmortem Tales (Audio CD)
On their 1st full length Cd, Swordmaster have come up with the goods. An intense death/thrash attack with shades of black metal thrown in, Swordmaster are not original, but they manage to exude tons of energy and desire. Slayer and Kreator influences abound, but the songs generally rip you to shreds and the retro-feel of the Cd is both nostalgic and progressive. The production is stripped down, and the guitars should have been louder, but the ingredients are still there. Blazing thrash drumming, chainsaw guitars and insane vocal howling. This is a solid step in the right direction by these young thrashers. A little more seasoning and they could well become very lethal indeed. 3 1/2 stars would be a better grade; again though, an excellent first effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid blackened thrash, June 29, 2008
This review is from: Postmortem Tales (Audio CD)
This is a great thrash metal record with black metal vocals - great guitars, feedback, drums, ultra-heaviness. Good job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Total Metallic Devastation, April 22, 2001
This review is from: Postmortem Tales (Audio CD)
Swordmaster managed to combine the old ways of Extreme Metal with the melody of Sweden's scene today, and did an excellent job of it. The solo on "Crush to Dust" is one of the most memorable solos of 90's Metal!
