my son from sweden came over, and what to do but to see the Van's Warped Tour? A confusing mess of a festival, we stumbled upon this band, and what did we find? A lyrical band, with every instrument fleshing out the sound. This was a refreshing find, as many other bands could not crawl out of lower registers, so murky and bottom heavy as to be indistinct and growly, with pseudo angry exhortations ringing false. Evaline was the best part of $35 spent on the whole show. Even if you pick up a used copy cheap, money well spent. I would see these guys in a heartbeat, but I'm sure not gonna travel to Turlock! Invite them to your town.

I was absolutely blown away at the debut EP from up and comers Evaline! Everything from the beautiful and sometimes morbid lyrics, to the excellent music score produced by the talented guitarist Quinn Alman from The Used. I happend to see the second half of their set on the 2007 Rockstar Taste of Chaos, considering the fact that I arrived late, and was incredibly moved by their performance. Though while live, they don't have the most energy in the world as apposed to the other bands on tour like Chiodos, Aiden, or Senses Fail, however the expertly done songs make up for that. I expect to hear a lot from Evaline in the near future. I can't wait for their full-length to come out and blow the world away!

No they don't sound like every generic big label band. This ep is on of the more impressive debut's of the year (they also stood out at Warped Tour, as well as Taste of Chaos). Don't let the fact that Quinn Allman(the Used) produced this release give you false expectations, this is impressive. It's not too in your face, and it's layered very well. The first two tracks are the strongest.

Easy to listen to..,

After seeing them perform in SF during the Taste of Chaos tour (they had one of the most interesting live performances, with lots of jumping around and writhing on the stage), I decided to get their CD. Their music is surprisingly mellow; it took a few listens to get used to it, but I like it. Be warned: it's a bit whiny; however, their stuff is definitely well-produced, and they shouldn't change their sound. My favorite song on their CD is "Where the Fearless Hide".

Evaline out of Turlock, CA is amazing. I, hailing from Turlock myself, have been more impressed with these 5 young men than any other band out there today. RJ, Steve Dave, C-Lew, Dom, and DrummerSteve are not only phenomenal musicians, but phenomenal people. They have worked so hard, and with the recent success of Warped Tour (which they rocked, by the way) has helped them to gain even more well-deserved recognition. There EP is outstanding, and the tracks are well worth the repeat button. I highly encourage everyone to listen to their music. I promise, you will soon figure out why Evaline is a whole-hearted favorite of Central California. They are headed for the top... so join the ride.

"____sound just like____and every other band being jammed down your throat on the radio. They stole their sound from___who took their sound from____. They whine just like that band____on that major label___records. You can fill in the blanks, and write your own review. You don't even have to use this band's name. They're no different than any other whiney emo band out there. I did like the song "Postpartum Modesty"
