What does my review title have to do with the game I'm reviewing? Probably as much as pot smashing does with the minigames that make up the pot smasher :)

This is a collection of games challenging the player on a number of skills where the pots smashing is the reward. The minigames are all over the place but almost all are mind games and I can see someone motivated to keep his/her mind skills sharp playing it with some regularity.

This is what you get for your money:

- Zen Smash: 3 rows of pots scroll on your screen and you blow them up when you touch them. The pace of scrolling increases gradually.
- Teapot Smashup: touch and smash 3 of a kind teapots.
- Smash Typing: if you are a good at touch typing you'll be good at smash typing. Pots with letters on them make up words and the pots blow up as you type the words.
- 3 Letter Words: 2 rows of pots with letters on them. Smash any 3 that make up a dictionary 3-letter word, then the smashed ones are replaced and smash some more.
- Smash 11: Pots come with one-digit numbers on them this time. Smash pots until the numbers add up to 11. Then... the smashed ones are replaced and smash some more.
- Quick Smash: 15 pots are labelled 1-15. Smash them in order and the game keeps track of your best time.
- 4 Letter Words: like 3 Letter Words.
- Memory Smash: You are shown 2 or more pots, then you have to identify and smash them off a pots lineup of 4 or more.

Is it addictive? It depends on how motivated you are. There are 40 awards, most of them easy to get but some, like the one granted when you smash 10,000 pots, requiring some work. You can have hints on/off, same for timers, sound, and the music.

The smash animations and sound effects are okay, the music is boring but, thankfully it can be turned off.

Overall I actually like the game. It's not 'hard' to play and not all games are going to challenge everyone but most of the minigames could be used as a personal mind sharpness benchmarks. How is this related to pot smashing? Well... these are games so there's got to be something happening on the screen or it would all be too abstract and probably more boring.

This game plays well on the Kindle Fire. I also like how you easily unlock levels and expand the game play. I like the typing and word games and also how they add letters to the challenge as you advance through the games. If you like this style of game it can be fun to play. Some people may find it boring and it just depends on the type of game you like.

This game could be a keeper but I do not like the permissions requested. Why does a game need permission to access our internet and your device ID to play a game. The simple answer is it doesn't.

This is a 4 to 5 star game without the permissions and a 2 star game with them. Clean it up and I'll change my review to a 5 star but otherwise you are just one of the excessive data gathers that we don't approve of.

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring battery drainer May 13, 2012

Interesting concept, however has very little value past the initial few minutes.

Additionally, unlike most apps, it continues running in the background after you go home, requiring you to force close it.

Android OS is designed to hold apps in memory, where it consumes no power, when you press the home key. However, this app continues to use 4% of my phones processor, which does consume power, meaning if you don't force close it it will continually drain power. This represents bad design on the developers part, as the tools are there, in fact commonly used, to allow it to suspend into memory.

There also isn't any in-app way of exiting the app. While this is normally entirely unnecessary in android apps, and is in-fact a foreign concept brought in by users migrating from the other OS available, in this case it leaves you with no option but to use a task manager to close it.

Overall, a poorly designed app by an obviously amateur developer with very little Android programming experience.

Uninstalling now.
