Another classic,
By Andy (MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Potshot-A-Gogo (Audio CD)
This is a great cd. I consider to be somewhere between Pots n' Shots and Til I die. The first ten songs here blew me away. "Potshot Go" is a classic "Whoa oh oh" openener. The lyrics on the next two songs are really great. The high point of the album comes with track 4, "She is Cute." Five or so lines of lyrics, and about 2:09 minutes long. "She is Cute" and the aptly titled tribute, "MU330" are probably the two best songs here. But wait! What about the next two? "Good & Bad Times" is a really great laidback song, reminiscent of the specials. Who could forget the chorus: "Na na na na na, na na na na na, so now, whoa oh oh, tell me your story." Then, another highpoint comes with the song "Smile." Very touching lyrics. The rest of the songs, are unfortunately well labeled as "the rest of the songs." They kinda sound the same. And Ryoji does this weird thing with his voice where his voice deepens and changes pitch. It worked for the guy from the B-52s, not potshot. Finally, track 17 is an acoustic rendition of "Every Rain Lets up." Not bad. And guess what? Masayuki (of Rock N' Roll) is back on set. Pretty sweet.
