I purchased this item with the hopes of playing some Quidditch. The game looks so great in the movies that I simply had to play it myself. I bought some brooms, one red dodge ball to serve as a Quaffle, and two oversized softballs in place of the Bludgers. Then I loaded up my 1974 Chevy El Camino and drove to the playground.

Despite the near ubiquitous nature of the Harry Potter series, none of the kids wanted to play with me. Maybe I picked the one playground in America where the children had no idea what Quidditch is, but all of the kids I approached backed away from me and claimed not to know what I was talking about. Has it really been too long? Has America forgotten about Harry Potter?

I was disappointed, but that didn't stop me from playing Quidditch. I tossed the Golden Snitch into the air and jumped on my broom. I'm not an idiot, I know that brooms don't actually fly, but for a moment I thought that I could actually see the Snitch flutter to life. Alas, it crashed into the mud like all of my dreams. The wings don't even really flap - not like they do in the movies anyway. I played out there for a little over an hour, until someone had the audacity to call the police. Apparently a 30 something man in a trench coat rolling around in the mud at the playground is something to be feared. Perhaps I should have shaved off my beard and worn pants.

That said, for the price I paid, it's a pretty good deal.

One word of caution, this is an oversized Snitch. It does not fit in your mouth like the one in the movies. Trust me on this one folks.

This was a perfect gag gift for the Harry Potter fan. It is just as described. A plastic toy. It's cheap, but it did what I wanted it to do...bring a smile to my friend's face.

I think this thing cost me like $2.00 & shipment was like $5.00. Otherwise, the item was as described. It doesn't do anything but my son is happy just having it part of his harry potter collection. It's all plastic.

This snitch looks beautiful in the package, but isnt so nice out of it! I cannot complain for the price i paid...but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In this case its very generic.

Very disappointed that when we received this, they had the wing done in such a way that the packaging stuck to it when you tried to open it. Very cheaply made to begin with, and that just added to our disappointment of the product. For $6 ($60% off). If I had paid the original $15 asking price I'd be quite upset with the quality of product and packaging. I wasn't expecting it to look authentic, but paper stuck to the wing in a way that you cannot take off was a little much.

Okay, so I had a snitch a lot like this, except then it fell out of my pocket on the night of the Harry Potter Premiere. I mean, it was a really really decent snitch, and I liked it a lot. So I decided to replace it. I find this one here, and I buy it. Big mistake. It was much shoddier than when I got it. The wings could give you paper cuts, the entire thing seemed to have been done with a thing of that brittle plastic and quickly spray painted. The one I had wasn't high quality or anything, but it was better than this! I suggest that if you want a decent snitch to make your friends jealous with, don't get this one. Instead, there is a nice one sold by Alivans.com. They also sell pretty nifty brooms and cloaks and wands. (Their wands are awesome). If you are looking for something really cheap that you're only going to use as a prop once or twice, however, then I guess this one would work for that. It's not absolutely TERRIBLE, I guess. But it isn't nearly as nice as I hoped for. It does look just like the one in the picture, except the paint job, while it probably won't scratch off, doesn't cover a lot of the sphere, so there are lot of black-ish patches on it, and those wings are flimsy plastic that if you bend in any direction, it'll do damage. Also, if you HATE it when you get those little pieces of plastic in your toys that rattle around and drive you crazy, beware, I got one of those, and I think I'm going to go nuts. Not to mention, the day I got the thing in the mail, I looked at it on here again, and the price dropped down about two dollars. Cheap isn't everything, let's just say that.

I ordered this for a friend who really loves Harry Potter and was pleased to find this product as something she could add to her "Harry Potter Shrine". However, when i got it in the mail, I was disappointed to find that the snitch is not nearly as pretty as it looks on the computer and much too big for a snitch replica. And there is a random whole in the bottom of it. ????? Anyways, my friend still liked it, but the worst part, and the reason I'm rating this so low, is that when I took it out if the package to check for damage before I gave it to my friend, I found that the wing was attached to the paper. By that I mean that there was red paper stuck to my snitch! It took me an hour with alcohol wipes to get it off! And I know that this is not the seller's fault, it was probably just a glitch in production, but just by looking at it before I opened it, I could tell that something was not right with it. I wish that the seller had the audacity to throw the one that was clearly messed-up away and send a different one.

This item is very cheap, not what I expected. It's all plastic, I expected the wings to move by battery or by winding but it does nothing...definitely not worth the money, this item should be sold in a dollar store.

I used this as an accessory on a birthday cake. The wings were pretty flimsy and looked like they would come off easily-I'm not sure I would suggest this as a toy for a little one.

This snitch is probably a bit larger than Harry's, but as part of a costume, it works. The 7 year old boy it was purchased for was delighted. The only negative was the 16 days it took for delivery. Don't order if you need it in a hurry.
