Customer Reviews

It is literally a rubber mount glued to a steel pad.

I took it out of the box, put gas/oil in the tank and started it up...it started easily but takes a few minutes to warm up.

A blower used about once a month should be like new after a year, and this one is falling apart.

I purchased the PPBP300 from Lowe's last weekend after wavering between it and the Husqvarna 150BT ($299). I wanted it primarily to clear leaves and debris from my deck and patio and also loose leaves from the yard as they fell. Upon start up it took approximately 10 minutes before it would handle any throttle without starving itself. Once it was warm, at full throttle it was extremely underwhelming. It had trouble moving leaves across my deck without holding the airflow on the them for a while. In the yard it didn't touch any leaves in the grass. I took it back to Lowe's and replaced it with the Husky 150BT and it was worth the addition $140. The Husky is in another league. I could literally rake my yard free of light debris faster than the Poulan Pro could blow it away. Big disappointment.

Purchased blower and loved it. Unfortunately on the third use the top mount that holds unit to backpack broke. It is literally a rubber mount glued to a steel pad. A 25 cent bolt with a rubber washer on each end would have worked but hey i'm no engineer. No way to fix unless you take the blower housing apart and rig something yourself.

Believe me it WILL break. Took mine back to the store and the return lady giggled. She said they had retained one for store use and the same thing had happened to theirs the day before. They also discontinued carrying the model in their chain because of the design flaw.

It does run well but youll have to carry it.....

First... make sure you read Amazon's no gas powered stuff returns.
Second... don't buy this cheap piece of... um.... garbage.

The first time I used it, it was awsome...

Second time, I heard, click click, rattle rattle rattle... ping! And that when I "shut 'er down".

I looked down and saw little metal peices had fallen out of it... kind of happy they didn't fly around and hit me/someone else!

I got this as a gift not even a year ago. Difficult to start out of the box. Once it begins in half-throttle, I had to toggle between full and half throttle to keep it going. Takes 10-15 minutes to warm up to even attempt full-throttle. I've used it less than 10 times and now it does not start at all. I am taking it back. I will never purchase from this brand again.

I think the Poulan Pro Back Pack Blower PPBP300 is great for its price. Its not a Stihl but does everything I need. I use it for commerical and home use. At first start, it takes time to bring it to a full throttle. Comfortable to wear, easy to assemble. The blower came in its orginal box but also was sent in another box that helps keep the blower free of damage during shipment. Hands down, I'm very happy with my purchase but only time will tell if it last.

Now I have used the Poulan Blower many times (commerical use),I have a different opinion. It is still working very well but the base has broken away from the blower itself and the cheap padding has also fallen off. Don't purchase this blower for commerical use. I will buy a Stihl!

I bought this a few weeks ago at lowe's on clearance for 159.99. I took it out of the box, put gas/oil in the tank and started it up...it started easily but takes a few minutes to warm up. also it hesitates and boggs down a bit when you hit the throttle. All could be due to improper carb tuning or spark plug gap out of the box, so i'll have to look at that. But the thing that bugged me is that the second time i used the thing, the upper motor mount broke!(a rubber part that holds the whole blower/motor assembly to the backpack frame) I'll have to see what poulan's customer service is like. its easy enough to rig a fix to get it back working again, but I'd rather get a replacement or have it serviced than try and fix something thats practically brand new.
other than that, it was half the cost of the husqvarna that was sitting next to it on the shelf at lowes, and once it gets going it does everything i need it to.

I purchased this blower from Lowes about a year ago and was initially satisfied but not impressed. It had the long warm up time and the inability to reach full throttle that other reviewers mention. It's also underpowered for a backpack blower, but it was less work than raking so I kept it. After about six months of use, the blower took five minutes of pulling to start, and it's gone downhill from there. I initially thought my gas had gone bad after sitting in the can a couple months, but I've replaced the gas and still can't get the thing running. Don't buy this blower.

UPDATE, later the same day: after reading about another commentor's trouble with the fuel line, I checked mine. It had broken off where it enters the tank. I replaced the fuel line, and the blower started on the first pull. I stand by my initial assessment of the product as "garbage." A blower used about once a month should be like new after a year, and this one is falling apart.

I've had it for 6 months - limited to weekend use. Shoulder strap broke (fine, I tied it off and was back in business). Now, back pack mountings have now broken and cannot be fixed. I'm very disappointed in this piece of junk. DO NOT BUY.
