So like you I read everyone's review before buying. Some positive some negative. Here is what I have found. I have now had the tractor for 2 months. Positive things, It has a powerfull engine to get up hills, no issues there. Steering is good. Easy to use after a few test drives. Goes through all gates since it is not too wide. Negative, the deck will gouge the grass on turns or bumps since there is no bottom out rollers on it. Gear changes are rough and the brake/clutch pedal is very sensitive. I have done several burnouts even when letting off it easy. The gearing it either too fast or too slow. It does not seem to have the right speed. They list a mulching kit for it but one does NOT exist. I have called the manufacture and their parts line, no dice. Even Home Depot shows one to exist in their ads. There is also no bagging system for it although they told me one is in the works. I do not believe it. Overall I like the size, just needs more features.

We bought the Pouland tractor because we needed a 30" cut for our lawn. It arrived in a crate and we
opened the crate and assembled the tractor (steering wheel and seat) added gas and it fired right up!
Unfortunately it rained so we couldn't cut grass for several days and the gas ran into the oil and
dripped all over the garage floor. So we had to drain the oil, clean and dry the carburetor before
we could put in new oil and gas and start it up. Again, it started right up and I cut the lawn. It
works real good on our ditch banks and less than smooth lawn. Turns real good around the trees and
the wife's flower beds. I'd like more than the 3-speed that it came in -- 1st gear is too slow and
2nd gear is too fast. The clutch is tricky until you get used to it -- almost snapped my neck at
first. Let the clutch out REAL slow. Overall we are pleased with the lawn tractor and Amazon.com.
We tracked it easily and it arrived when they said it would. We are happy.

Receoved this tractor on May 4,2010, was in a crate and hard to remove. The seat was damaged and unable to be attached to the tractor. I contacted their customer service and received e-mail acknowledgements both times,"will respond within 24 hrs". I did something very foolish and tried it out to see if it would work. I just sat on the plate that holds the seat, and as a result, fell off and broke a rib. I am willing to pay for a new seat if someone would just let me know how to do this. I have wired the seat on so that I can at least mow my lawn, but am afraid that the wire might break and I will take another spill. The tractor itself is OK, a little too slow in first gear, but to fast in second to mow. This is the first and most likley the last time I purchase a product of Poulan.

Perfect for my use. I have a "double-corner" lot, and it has cut my mowing time in half. Starts easily, and is easy to negiotiate all the turns and twists around my numerous trees and shrubs. Of course, I still have some trim work to do with the old Lawnboy, but the time element more that negates this. It is powerful, and is ideal for the suburban home owner.

Great little tractor! I bought this tractor because I was sick of spending 3 hours mowing half-an-acre with a 22" push mower. There are wide-cut push mowers out there but they are the same price as tractors and not as versatile; there are a lot of accessories available for tractors. The delivery company delivered right into my garage and I assembled this in no time. I agree with the other comments on the speed of this tractor. It would be nice to have an additional gear between 1st an 2nd. My first experience in 2nd gear was a small wheelie! Yeah, I read the manual to release the clutch/brake slowly but it's a sensitive pedal. My wife thought it was just another toy but after I mowed the lawn in less than an hour she gave me a thumbs-up for my purchase.
