The Poulan cultivator / tiller that I purchased from Amazon worked great for a few hours, but then it broke in two places 1) down low where the shaft connects into the cultivator AND 2) much worse than this, when it failed, it stripped out the shaft ABOVE the click-link connector; in the top half of the unit (the piece that you dont get when you purchase the cultivator / tiller) into which this cultivator / tiller attaches. So while my engine still worked, NONE of my attachments worked as the receptical into which each connects was stripped by the cultivator / tiller attachment. Needless to say, I was VERY VERY unhappy. While Amazon refunded the money for the Poulan cultivator / tiller, they did not pay to fix the stripped shaft, and I was left to pay to have that replaced myself, a really big hassle.

In my opinion (I am not an engineer) it seems like the hard work begin done by the cultivator / tiller puts far too much tension into the small spinning rod inside the shaft of the entire unit. Tilling dirt causes a much greater resistance than edging, trimming, or blowing. I am surprised that more folks haven't experienced or reported this issue.

With a 12 year old ,31cc Ryobi grass trimmer,I really didn't expect the Poulan Pro tiller attachment to do a lot of work...but any power combo is better than a shovel !
Hooking up to the quick link system went smoothly,as did carrying the assembled unit to the winter old garden plot. A few pulls of the starter rope, and I was dig'n dirt.Holding about 3/4 throttle in the semi-hard soil and letting the weight of the tiller work it's way down to about 4 inches then pulling it back to me worked best. Fifteen minutes and I had tilled a 16" wide by 20 foot strip, ready for planting. The Poulan Pro is well made, sturdy and a great investment .

Okay, this little contraption works extremely well for its size. I recommend that if you are going to do a virgin tilling, rent a larger machine first, removing rocks as you go, and use this for fine detailing. It has plenty of power but gets stuck on smaller rocks. Overall, happy with the cultivator.

This product works surprisingly well. I am a professional landscaper and I bought the Poulan w/attachments for my business. The tiller attachment is solid like a tank. Did I mention it makes quick work of flower beds and weeds? All of our new accounts we like to give an initial shock on the first cut, this thing digs out flowerbeds so well, they don't even want the mulch! LOL. This thing is great, it is small enough to dig out the beds and powerful enough to extend them when necessary. I wouldn't try to dig up an entire yard with it, but it has done a small back yard for me (saved me $200), and even some soft stumps from bushes (another $200). Grade A product.

Purchased for my husband as a gift in April. He went to use it to redo some areas of our yard that needed reseeding. Worked well but within the first hour, the tiller stopped turning. It has a stripped gear shift and the only co that does warranties for it in our area said after having it for a week, they are still waiting on the replacement part from Poulan. So much for reseeding this fall. They don't know when they will get the part from Poulan.

As I have read in other posts this item ended up breaking my weed wacker. It broke the shaft at the point where they both connect. Easy fix with a piece of PVC pipe and hose clamps, but it still happened. Other than that the item works fine, I put a cindeblock over the shaft so it rests on the guard in an attempt to reduce the bounce. This worked fine, I don't have to do much now other than hold it back and knock rocks out that get stuck in the blades. It has held up to this added weight and hard work of breaking new soil, so I'm not sending it back all in all I'm pleased with my purchase, it does exactly what I expected.

Well I will say first off I have the Gas head and every attachment made for it in this series. As for the "Cultivator" I could not have been more disappointed!. I am in the process of warranty registration and going to take it for repair.

After 20 Min of use with giving it breaks every 5 min, Mine suddenly let the gas head rev up high and stopped spinning, From my research a lot of people state there is a brass gear in the system which fails?!?!. This initial job was top soil and allowing the unit to tear away at it with no downward force.

I work hard for my money and treat my equipment extremely well as I do not have money to just go and replace it.
I am glad they have a two year limited warranty which this will be covered by. (Read your warranty details!!)
But Could not be more disappointed that it already failed after 20 min of use.

I have another unit exactly the same, I have not taken out of the box yet and now am afraid it will also fail after 20 min.

Will Update if its possible of how the warranty issue is handled.

P.S. In the interest of full disclosure, I got this at local Walmart, While they were doing INSANE clearance, want it gone, I think I paid 10 or 15 blow out clearance price.
summer product blow out for new inventory. I bought almost two of every attachment and the gas head ( Would have bought 2nd gas head if they had it!!)
Also Backback blower same brand at 50$ oh yea and my chainsaw at 30. This is and has been the only part so far I have been severely disappointed with!. every other part has been awesome!
