Poulan Pro 22 inch Self-Propelled Lawn Mower,

This review is from: Poulan Pro PR625Y22RKP 22-inch 625 Series Briggs & Stratton Gas-Powered FWD Self-Propelled Lawn Mower with Electric Start And High Rear Wheels (Lawn & Patio)
First, the mower is a good value for the price. Easy to start & adjusting wheels for cutting level. However, the engine needs to be upgraded to at least 6.75 horsepower. For my lawn it appears underpowered and this is a self propelled unit. Secondly, the back wheel support brackets(axles) need to be stronger as both wheels tend to bow inward from weight of the mower. Finally, adjusting wheels is easy; but, leveling of the cut has been difficult. Maybe, its my lawn being uneven, not for sure.

This review is from: Poulan Pro PR625Y22RKP 22-inch 625 Series Briggs & Stratton Gas-Powered FWD Self-Propelled Lawn Mower with Electric Start And High Rear Wheels (Lawn & Patio)
I found the mower to operate excellently. It starts easy, its bags wonderfully, it mulches excellently. Someone complained about the back wheels tilting in, well that has no affect on the operation of the mower. Its not on an axle but connected directly to the mower on ballbearings. The wheel is 12" high and that can be expected. The throttle handle and self-propelled handle are easy to use while mowing. It most certainly has enough power to get the job done. The mower has excellent qualities; the ability to wash the deck by connecting a hose to the hose attachment on the mower and run the mower while the high pressure cleans. It cleans under the mower very well. The price is excellent for the quality of mower. The FWD is great for me becauase I am disabled and unable to push a mower. I would recommend this mower to anyone whithout question. Well I think the mower is great regardless what these other people say or think. You must take care of your investments. I had no problem with my rear guard being eat-up. Its a great valve.

This Spring I treated myself to a new, self propelled mower. This model, specifically.I have never been so dissatisfied with a new purchase as I have with this. I have all kinds of power tools and use them as intended and with care. This mower is a mess!! Within just a few times using it, the rear skirt caught up under the blades & was mangled to pieces, the side diffuser got bumped and one of the 2 clips broke off, the motor cover screws backed out of their holes & are long gone, and finally, the bolt that holds the cover on the self propelled belt took forever to remove because it's crooked! The motor is wonderful, just as any Briggs & Stratton motor usually is, but the construction of the mower itself...total garbage. Everything is molded plastic & it is NOT sturdy and certainly isn't worth the $335 I paid for it! My opinion....find another manufacturer with the same motor & you'll likely be fine. Read this & buy it anyway...just remember you've been warned!
