Great to finally have this on DVD!, November 26, 2006
I was extremely excited when I saw this had come out on DVD. I've been a Pound Puppies fan since I was little, and to have at least of piece of that on DVD is very cool. The story's fun, and as a kid (and even now) the characters are lively and enjoyable.
There wasn't anything amazing about the DVD, but one of the features I liked (that isn't present on all DVDs) was the direct play. No pesky button pushing. They haven't done anything fancy with the animation but, being as it was released in 1988, the quality isn't bad anyway. It's as I remember it, and it's fun to hear the voices again and reconnect with the characters.
A great movie for fans, young and old, as well as those who haven't seen it yet!

Pound Puppies, July 12, 2002
By A Customer
The youngest pound puppy, Whopper, has grown up and turns out to be just like Cooler. He's telling two little puppies about the Bone of Scone, this giant, magic bone that allows humans to communicate with dogs. Back when Cooler was still in charge, this ugly guy whose last name was McNasty planned on stealing it. He adopted a pack of baby pitbulls, and used this machine to make them big and evil. Well, Whopper and his sister Bright Eyes ound out and told Cooler, and he and the rest of the pound puppies went off in search of Big Paw, who sings this cute song about how he loves you, and he's just a lonely little puppy too, even though he's about 15 feet tall. Then, this one dog, Coolette, has been kidnapped, and Whopper and Bright Eyes have to watch her newborn puppies. So when all the dogs except Cooler, Sammy, Hair Ball, (Pound Purries) and the puppies have been turned evil, Coolette's about to attack the babies when they say, "Mommy, we love you." Coolette turns back to normal, and Cooler figures it out. Reflex, this one dog who's trained to say "I love you" whenever he hears a bell, is cured of the evil by Cooler, who has him ring the bell and Reflex cures everyone. Then, at the end, there's a Sock Hop at the pound. At the very end, with grown up Whopper, the two puppies don't believe him because he used to tell stories, hence his name. Then a HUGE black dog comes out, and the two puppies whisper, "Big Paw."

A Kid's Review
i remember back in 96' when i was only like 3, my aunt recorded it. my mom says id get her to watch it with me all the time. she says i used to dance to the songs. wel, the music is of a good quality. and the story is pretty good. however, the animation looks cheap and not very good. but still, i recomend this movie to you if you have kids.
