Second Full length from the awesome Ska'rdcore mob!!!,
By "sibsvandal" (Isle Of Wight, ENGLAND) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pound for the Sound (Audio CD)
The second full length from Capdown, and it doesn't disappoint. Capdown continue with their fast paced ska and hardcore sound, mixing in greater reggae vocals this time round. Everything feels beefier now. The guitar work, the sax solos, and just the general production of the album. You might think this would detract from the raw feel, but it really doesn't make much difference, the album certainly doesn't feel over produced. The social and political messages are still there too. The diversity on this album is great. There are straight up punk rock tracks, the old ska'rdcore style that this band have made their own, songs of a more reggae hardcore style, and many more influences. Basically, anyone and everyone should get this. Fans of fast and raw music, fans of ska, fans of hardcore, fans of punk, fans of thrash, whatever. This album could fit into so many genres, but whatever tag you put on it, this album is still awesome. Go out there and get it, and you will not regret the purchase.

Yes, they are. Civil Disobedients was an exllent cd, that everyone must own, but this cd, just made me SO happy/excited/pumped/crazy... everything. I don't think I've ever thrashed around my bedroom with my best friend more during a cd as much as I did on this one. Seriously, to name a few good tracks would be mean [hehe] to the others, so I gotta say that they all rock. The opening tracks are particularly good. The dude below got it right I think.

As far as the skapunk genre goes, this CD is topnotch. In general, its nothing revolutionary, but its incredibly well done and has so much energy. Personally, I like their style and the singers have cool voices. If you like bands like CHOKING VICTIM and SUICIDE MACHINEs, then buy this now....

Capdown rule!,

Finally, a British ska-punk band that are just as good as the U.S. ones! If youn haven't heard Capdown before, and you like punk/ska, maybe you like it a little heavier than usual and ure up with politics, then buy this album. If not, still buy this album! It's great, never out of my stereo for long and it rocks my world. Each track is so different, for example Dub No. 2 picks up where Dub.No 1 (on Civil Disobediants) left off, with reggae, but the others are hardcore ska-punk. Fave track? I can't pick-they're all great! Buy it now, and buy Civil Disobediants too (in my opinion it's better, but both rawk!) |
