The Gold Country of California is home to many excellent but little known wineries. Pour Me Another is an opinionated guide to the wines and wineries of the Sierra Foothills. With entries for 68 different wineries and vineyards in California's Amador and El Dorado counties , Pour Me Another, is the definitive guide to Gold Country wines. Each entry has a tasting notes form where you can note your own observations about the wines you tasted.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is how to organize a wine-tour guide book July 10, 2011
Format:Paperback
This is an ideal guide to a little-known region of wineries - perfect combination if you're either a beginner at wine touring or venturing into the California Gold Country for the first time (or both).
Use this book two ways: planning your trip and using it on your trip. In fact, it's designed to take with you. Of course, it has room for your own notes on wines you try. But it has everything you need to find the wines and the services nearby, updated online and accessible by barcodes with each winery. Yes, you'll need a phone app for the barcodes, but what an excellent way to keep a print book up to date.
I'm looking forward to using it at my first opportunity.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK September 13, 2011
By Erin PS
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
My husband and I just recently discovered the Gold Country wine area. Actually, he had been there 30 years ago but tubing down the river with college buddies. hah! We just fell in love with the area last month..and like the author says, everyone is so NICE (not snobby) and the wines are to die for. This is like Napa was 30-40 years ago.

I love the way the book is written...good concise info, a little humor, and the way the info is organized. There is even a little area for tasting notes after the description of each winery. I can't wait to go up to the wineries again WITH the book, as it will now become a working journal as well as a reference book.

Looks like Mr. Locicero is coming out with another new book....URBAN WINES: An Opinionated Guide to the Bay Area's Urban Wineries. Can't wait to get that when it comes out.

MR. LOCICERO: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR WORK BRINGING THIS TERRIFIC LITTLE BOOK TO US!

5.0 out of 5 stars WineSnobWearing"Gold" August 5, 2011
Format:Paperback
This is a find for any wine "snob" (or snob in the making) who is seeking a more low key, unintimidating and affordable place to go tasting with family and friends. I have recently had the opportunity to sample several wines from the area, and they are incredible. Throughout the book the author provides simple and unique details about each winery and also offers dining and overnight stay choices. Maps (and QR codes for the "blessed") are included as well. I have traveled to Napa and Sonoma on many occasions - dragging all my friends who visit me in the Bay Area along. What a hassle, and not easy on the pocketbook. Next stop for tasting will definitely be to experience the wineries in this book. The biggest challenge will be where to start. Gold Country watch out, we are coming!
