An old personal favorite of mine from the CDB...ROCKIN'!,

I had the cassette of this album when it was released in '87...glad to see it's been reissued! From the opening chords of "Bogged Down", you know this is gonna be pure rock'n'soul from a band capable of burnin' down a roadhouse. Best cuts are "Bogged Down", "Love Pourin' Out Of Me" (which sounds like a song itching to be sung by the likes of Sam & Dave), the hard rockin' "Powder Keg", the Southern beauty of "Stay With Me" (the album's only ballad), and the stompin' slide rave-up "Juanita" (with Ricky Skaggs on backing vocals). CDB is at their best when they turn it up, have a play, and throw caution to the wind. This Southern Rock should-be classic does just that.

If you love the Charlie Daniels band, you will LOVE this cd. I must strongly disagree that Powder Keg is the only good song on this cd. A cd like this will make you think of good times and the weekend!

Sorry Charlie, not a real great one. The best track on this album is POWDER KEG. Like CD says in the ROOTS REMAIN boxed set, "...it kinda got lost in the shuffle." Best thing to do is to buy the CD at the lowest price possible for the sake of listening to POWDER KEG.
