The operation of a powder mixer requires a knowledge not only of the mixing mechanisms but of the physical properties of the powders being mixed. The single most valuable item in the book was need often stated need to think of powder mixing as a different process from liquid mixing. The two strive for similar ends but by very different mechanisms. As a chemical engineer with much liquid mixing experience, this was useful. But having purchased this book to aid in solving some pressing powder mixing problems, the empasis on theory was a bit disappointing.
