They started regulating how many bags you can buy because the production of high grade powdered coca is very limited and requires a long - tedious process.

When coca flour is exposed to oxygen can easily become compromised. Oxidized coca flour has a distinctive bitter smell and a dull yellowish and even grayish green colour. Fresh flour is bright green or amber-green the airtight bags keep the product fresh, by quality policy, the McMate flour is between 5 - 20 days old when it reaches the customer, older flour is sent back to South America for local markets. The expiration time is generally 2 - 3 years but nothing compares to freshly powdered green leaves

The fresh taste and smell was really unique you don't find in other teas. Although you can easily sip this delicious tea through the day because it has none of the negative effects of coffee and caffeine you will find that it will benefit you no more than drinking 2 or 3 cups. The only downside is the steep price which isn't too bad once you realize that this tea is more of a health supplement than just another beverage. Great healthy alternative to caffeine. This tea has been consumed responsibly in Latin America for millennia and only now are we starting to realize its great health benefits

I love this stuff, I have it every day, It has takesn away my sweet cravigns and I just feel better when I drink it.

I realize this is export quality which means it's been processed to remove certain alkaloids but reviews spoke of energy when drinking this. I prepared 50 grams in total and consumed including the powder. It tasted well, had a nice smell, and I like the packaging, how it is properly sealed before being sold.

I have much of the bag to try so perhaps I may find further brews energizing and change my reviews.

Shipping is quick but is overcharged. Priority mail only costs $4.95 to ship and one seller charges $9 to ship. Priority mail offers free boxes too, so $9 is way too high for priority mail.

There were 3 free teabag samples included as well. I have yet to try them.

Upon further trying of the tea I felt some energy still not as much as coffee, but I respect coca tea as a healthy alternative to coffee. I also find I like it more than green tea. It requires very little sweetener. So I change my review to four stars.

This tea arrived precisely on time using expedited shipping. I find it to be an excellent stimulant and cleanser for the entire gastro-intestinal system. Easy to brew and for me preferrable to coffee for maintaining alertness and concentration. Will order again

I can attest that my blood pressure is now much lower, my mood is improved and, this is indeed helpful for anxiety. The powdered tea requires a paper filter in a pot or, in a coffee press. I would only suggest that you first order McMate 100ct tea bags which, are especially tasty!

I have to say that when reviewing this and related items, I saw a few negative reviews and wasn't sure if I would have any issues. I can't comment on anyone elses negative experience, but I received the product just as described. It appears to be a high quality tea. Smells very fresh and sweet and the color is good. The shipping time was quick as well. I had an excellent experience and the tea is as good those I've seen straight from Peru. Thank you!

All NovoAndina Products do not have a paper wraps since they can harbor dirt and bacteria and the printing ink can change or contaminate the delicate flavor of the tea bags.

NovoAndina products do not contain preservatives or additives; therefore they must be properly stored. All our Air Tight Bags are re-sealable with zip lock closures and once opened the bags must be kept closed at all time to avoid contamination in a dry, cool, dark place away from strong-flavored foods. An extra airtight container is recommended when the tea is stored over one month.

Do not store NovoAndina products inside a refrigerator if you have produce inside. Many fruits and vegetables, especially if they have been damaged, give off ethylene gas as they ripen. Our teas are very sensitive to the presence of even very low levels of ethylene gas. The refrigerator acts as a trap for the ethylene gas given off by the generating varieties, allowing it to build up to damaging levels. Although not hazardous to humans, the ethylene gas leads to the early aging and rotting of the tea.

Yungas leaves are very strong but with a sweet taste after taste. The brew numbs very fast and energy rushes between 5 - 10 minutes later.

Brew same as coffe, you can add a sprinkle of lejia to get more alkaloids realized

I would recommend this tea to all. It had a wonderful full-bodied taste that I was not expecting. It also gave me some much needed energy. It has replaced coffee most of the time as the effect is a little different and does not make me nearly as nervous as coffee. Great stuff!!
