Designed in French rustic style, this Hills of Provence arm chair combines a bold black finish with inviting curves and formal upholstery to create an expressive décor statement. The wood frame features a flared back with three well-place splats sculpted into center medallions and graceful, arching side ribbons. The top rail adds a cutout hole and darling floral carvings for a sweet, homey touch. Completing the romantic look, the seat apron offers feminine scalloping while the curved arms and legs host subtle leaf and scroll accents.
Beckoning passersby to rest a while, the chair's large padded seat provides a soft, luxurious silvery fabric covering as well as cushiony support from the woven webbed bottom. Practical casters on the feet make it easy to move the chair around as needed while not interrupting the period feel of the piece. In fact, look closely and see how the wood has been gently antiqued with terra cotta sand-throughs as if it's been sitting in a French farmhouse for years. The chair measures 26-1/2 inches wide by 23-1/2 inches deep by 42 inches high. The seat height is 19 inches. Some assembly is required, but Powell makes it easy with user-friendly 10-bolt construction. --Kara Karll
