I love the looks of this chest and the two removable boxes inside. I did, however, have to repair the hinge inside. At first I used the screws that were in it that fell out, but I ended up putting in larger ones and so far they have held.

Looks and feels solid. Perfect for a pirate decor bedroom. Very easy to open and close without worries of smashing little fingers.

I hesitated for over a year to purchase this chest and I am so glad I finally did! I found all the features I was looking for: It is safe, no chance of getting locked inside; it is sturdy enough to hold my son, ahem..I mean to hold up to my sons active play; great size for his room, not too big or too small; plus it looks like a real pirate chest! As for my little pirate, who is 3 1/2, he also loves this chest-only because it is a great place to hide! It sits empty for now, awaiting the next adventure.
