4.0 out of 5 stars Worked for me
I purchased this EQ because the head unit I got for Christmas only had one set of preamp out's. My 3 speaker set-up (2 door speakers, 1 sub) is powered by a 4 channel amp, with channels 1 & 2 and channels 3 & 4 each having their own inputs. I had bridged channels 3 & 4 to power the sub, which sent more RMS power to the sub than to the door speakers. Because the head...

First of all this is NOT A PARAMETRIC EQ! It is not even a "quasi parametric" or "semi parametric" EQ. It's not even really a 7 band EQ. A parametric EQ allows you to adjust the frequency center and bandwidth, this only allows you to boost or cut the gain. there are separate EQ's for front and rear, but they're set at different frequency - wierd. The sub crossover is at...

This review is from: Power Acoustik PWM-70 7-Band Parametric Equalizer (Electronics)
Because the head units' only pair of preamp out's had been doubled via RCA splitters, the sub was trying to reproduce mid and high frequencies as well as the lows, overpowering the door speakers and doing a very poor job with the higher frequencies. I hooked this EQ up last week and what a difference! The PWM-70 did a great job of sorting out the frequencies, and my 5 year old Infinity Kappa door speakers and JL Audio sub sound great again. I would absolutely recommend this EQ to anyone with a similar problem.

A parametric EQ allows you to adjust the frequency center and bandwidth, this only allows you to boost or cut the gain. there are separate EQ's for front and rear, but they're set at different frequency - wierd. The sub crossover is at 32hz, 64hz, or 132hz, a 80-90hz setting would have been more useful. all in all, I sent mine back. I wish Amazon would carry the PWM 20 as it has better features.
