5.0 out of 5 stars To Pray or Not to Pray?
Neville's system is simple, easy to apply, and --- most importantly --- effective. Like many esoteric writers of his generation (the so-called "New Thought" movement), he frequently quotes the Bible to make his point. However, his point is usually 180 degrees removed from the traditional interpretation of the cited passage. Like another reviewer, I was initially put off...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a book on mood psychology as the title implies.
This book is not a book on mood psychology but propoganda for monotheistic religion, refering to God, always capitalized, on nearly every other page. If i were into such concepts I could easily dilude myself into any state of unphoria without needing a book to help me. The Power of Now by Ekcart Tolle is a much better book that sticks to the topic without promoting any...

5.0 out of 5 stars To Pray or Not to Pray?, October 22, 2005
This review is from: The Power of Awareness (Paperback)
Neville's system is simple, easy to apply, and --- most importantly --- effective. Like many esoteric writers of his generation (the so-called "New Thought" movement), he frequently quotes the Bible to make his point. However, his point is usually 180 degrees removed from the traditional interpretation of the cited passage. Like another reviewer, I was initially put off by the constant references to "Holy Scripture". I kept asking myself why Neville felt the need to validate his system by appealing to authority. Once I got beyond my own mental hang-ups, I was able to appreciate fully what Neville was saying... and to apply it.

I'm now a big Neville fan, and have read several of his other books. But "Power of Awareness" is probably the only one you need to read. It lays out the entire system clearly and concisely.

By the way, anyone familiar with Israel Regardie (Golden Dawn) may appreciate knowing that he agreed with and approved of Neville's system ... but felt that most people lacked the simplicity and native imagination to use it as effectively as Neville was able to do. For such people, Regardie maintained that ritual work and a broader occult background was necessary.

As someone suspicious of ritual (talk about giving unnecessary deference to our religious heritage!) and tending to believe that most 'occult powers' are misunderstood manifestations of our own unconscious being, I much prefer Neville's approach.

5.0 out of 5 stars 101 of Spiritual Life and Success..., April 25, 2004
This review is from: The Power of Awareness (Paperback)
I truly believe that if I should require everyone to read but one book, this would be it. The author has said that he intented this book to be the simplest and easiest to apply that he has the power to make... and he has truly succeeded in writing such a great book.

The question on many people's lips is this: "I have read so many books, why should I read another?" Although you may be all done and read dynamo, this book is for you. It may not be as advanced as many other books Neville has written, but it certainly is the best guidebook to inspire, encourage and lift you up to the full potential by increasing your awareness of the power that can fulfill all of your dreams.

The special chapter on failure and what you can do in order to avoid failing is also something every serious truth student will find helpful.

Naturally, the only minus for this book comes from the fact that it mentions no word about the promise, but we can forgive that as the book was originally written in 1950s before Neville's more advanced years of teaching.

The author also provides a number of helpful exercises that you can use and in so doing, prove that this Truth is truly so. Don't just take my words for it, order the book and try it. I am sure that you won't be disappointed. You owe this much to yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, March 10, 2004

I have been on a spiritual journey for quite some time and I must say that this book makes me remember. I read this book almost four times in the last month and I would like to share and tell everyone I know about it. I have learned to wear kid gloves with people, and yet it all makes so much sense. There are people born knowing what they are going to do. I have not been one of them, but if you just watch someone who has a particular dream, you will see it happen, and we sit and wonder why we think we are victims, it is because we sit and think we are victims. Amazing book, everyone should read. Thats it, required school reading. I love it. Thank you Neville.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the real stuff about shaping your life !, June 14, 2005
By
This review is from: The Power of Awareness (Paperback)
What are you( the reviewer who only gave it 1 star) talking about mood psychology? If you are after a book to tell you about EQ or how you should control your emotions or how to get along well socially, then this book is not the one! This book is not even about psychology studies why and how people are screwed up! All that is really time wasting and achieves nothing.

This book by Neville Goddard tells you how you can shape your experience the way you want it. In fact, he is revealing to us what we already do morning noon and night! But most people are not aware of their thoughts that they are hypnotised by the external world and they feel helpless and scared.

What I like about Neville's method is that he teaches a method that bypasses all psychoanyalysis or any kind of analysis, for analysis are only to find reasons "Why" you have not succeeded! Those are actually excuses and traps that if you believe them, will rob you of your goal! Neville even goes one step further by teaching you to bypass the analysis of "How". My point is, most people do not achieve their goals because they are robbed by their "Why" and "How".

This book reveals how we create our own experience, and of course it will reveal to you some spiritual secrets and new understanding, for our whole life IS spiritual!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Number One book about Conscious Creation, August 29, 2000
This review is from: The Power of Awareness (Paperback)
I've read astonished this precious small book, to find -after so many thousands books that I personally have and know about spirituality, metaphysics, eastern wisdom traditions, western human potential methods, magic and witchcraft, channeling, I Am, you name it- that there's no need to keep on reading, these pages contain all that is essential, the very key of liberation from illusion and bonds -a practical way to use it- and a deep context of spiritual truth that the author likes relating with the Gospel, without any dogmatism or religious narrowness. This is "the" book. Know your infinite power, your freedom and the "all-that-is" possibilities before your conscious creativity.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is to reveal your infinite power ..., January 1, 2000
This review is from: The Power of Awareness (Paperback)
Another incredible classic by Neville, a dearly beloved author, lecturer, and mystic. "The ideal you hope to achieve is always ready for an incarnation, but unless you yourself offer it human parentage, it is incapable of birth" (10). "An assumption builds a bridge of incidents that lead inevitably to the fulfillment of itself" (38). Neville tells us in the beginning: This book is to reveal your infinite power, against which no earthly force is of the slightest significance. It is to show who you are, your purpose and your destiny.

Neville seems to know only what the great channelers and the most very enlightened tell us that imagination creates
our world. In his audio lectures found on the web Neville speaks of his awakening. This material is similar to
the Abraham books in that the secret is to concentrate on the feeling you wish from having attained your
wish and not the wish itself or the lack of what you wish for. Neville, like many others, encourages us to use
this power to become who we want to be and not to get lost in the wishing for material objects for
ego gratification. The writing is clear and deliberate as is his speaking. A good companion to this book
would be Neville's "Awakened Imagination" which gives a little more on this technique.
