About the Author

In 1996, Ray met don Miguel Ruiz M.D. (author of the best-selling book, The Four Agreements) on a trip to the Toltec pyramids ruins in Teotihuacan, Mexico and later became a student and apprentice. Now an author, teacher, and master belief coach, Ray helps both individuals and businesses forge new beliefs and agreements to affect lasting and positive change.

Before becoming a coach and author, Ray had careers as a professional musician, engineer and a corporate executive for a nation-wide facilities company with over one billion dollars in annual sales.

In addition to his coaching practice, he teaches seminars about Toltec wisdom and The Power of Belief throughout the United States and abroad. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

The Power of Belief is one of the most concise and accessible books ever written about the Toltec belief system. Fans of Castaneda and Miguel Ruiz, and new readers alike, will enjoy Dodd's simple yet penetrating writing style. The Power of Belief is a self-help primer and more for those seeking simple ways to create happier lives. Dodd covers the essential ideas intrinsic to the Toltec worldview and shows us how to apply them effectively to our daily experiences and predicaments. If you aren't familiar with the Toltec perspective this book is most likely the best introductory text you can read. More experienced readers will also gain a new perspective on an older tradition.

The central tenet of The Power of Belief is that we constantly create and recreate the story of our life through our actions and beliefs. Dodd gets the reader to deeply examine their persona and shows us that by acknowledging and changing our negative, distorted beliefs about ourselves, we can live richer and more fulfilling lives. Ultimately, each of us is free to unlock the shackles of our limited mindset and regenerate ourselves anew to become whatever we wish to be.

There is a lot of fresh and original thinking in Dodd's writing. Every page of this book is written with faith, authority, and conviction.

Ray Dodd has written a wonderfully effective companion to the Four Agreements. His use of archetypes is what, for me, really gives this book its punch. The Judge, the Victim, Belle, the Hero are all roles that I play which I can see within myself. These descriptions make it easier to be aware when these negative unwholesome mental formations are activated. Starting from awareness, then asking "the questions of disbelief" I find I am able to disassociate myself from these outmoded habitual patterns of belief.
