Product Description

A power inverter converts 12-volt DC (direct current - the type of power provided by an automotive battery) to 110-volt AC (alternating current, the type of power you get from your home outlet) and allows you to operate AC devices in your car, boat or camper/RV. Our Vector? Power Inverters provide high- and low-voltage protection and short circuit protection. A low battery alarm will sound when your battery discharges to 10.6 volts.

This review is from: Power On Board 1500 Watt Power Inverter with Cables/Carry Case
I live off the grid. This 1500W POB inverter exclusively ran a household (rarely ever used 1500 watts). It ran quiet and wonderful for the year it lasted. That was my only complaint was it only lasted one year. When it did go out, it took my TV, laptop power supply & laptop battery with it. Luckily the TV was still under warranty to exchange, the power supply was not expensive. I still haven't replaced the over $100 laptop battery. This happened despite all these being plugged into a surge protector outlet. The ~$100 paid for it could be expensive if I have to replace it every year and I lose equipment like it did this time. This unit was outdoors under a covered carport. Would have still gotten it again, except I could not longer find locally.
