Excellent book. For someone who is considering buying a boat in the range covered (30-55ft), it is well worth the fairly high price. It guides the reader to what is really important to pay attention to in a new or used boat. Mr. Pascoe, an experienced surveyor, is well known in the marine world for being brutally honest and straightforward with his opinions. I have not only read it twice, I also gave a copy to the boat builder who was building my current boat. It made an impression and in the end, helped him build a better boat as well.
