Using prayer as an important part of the healing process,
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
"The Power of the Divine" is one of the most interesting books on the market today when it comes to understanding the importance of prayer in the healing process. Author Tiffany Snow takes the reader on a trip through science, healing, and religion and how these intersect to provide healing for the body and soul. Perhaps one of the most important points in the book is the clear delineation between spiritual healing and divine healing. Spiritual healing includes things related to energy including spiritual energy. Divine healing, on the other hand, is healing that includes prayer and an invocation to God to actively take a part in the process. We know that putting an antibiotic on an open wound helps keep it from becoming infected because we apply the laws of nature that God has put forth. We can use similar principles for spiritual or energy healing. But above using laws of nature for healing is the Divine healing that comes from God's active participation in the process. This places Tiffany Snow in an interesting philosophical position. For conservative Christians she will be too much New Age and for many New Age people who wish to take credit for all healing she will be too much Christian. Those in the middle will find her delightful. I appreciate that she also has the wisdom to include the importance of forgiveness and emotional healing as part of the complete healing process. Elsewhere in the book she discusses how to pray, and some techniques that have worked for her. Near the end is a collection of inspirational healing scriptures, poems, and prayers. Some may have a problem with the chapter on deliverance and exorcism. It is a curious anomaly that most people believe in angels but don't believe in demons. If that is the case with you then you will probably have difficulty with this chapter. But don't discount the whole book because of this, as there is a lot of good information available as well as encouragement for those who wish to understand divine healing and the importance of prayer in a person's life. "The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide" is a recommended read for anyone interested in the healing process and the importance of the Divine in the process.

Basic Overview of Book - Controversial and Profound,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
Can prayer heal? Do miracles happen? Can a person tap into a Supernatural Power so strong that the impossible becomes reality? Can ancestral curses and negativity manifest as illness in a descendant's body? Can the scaring of emotional trauma truly be healed? Could these things truly be possible in this day and age? This amazing book is a "self-help" manual that cuts across any barriers of religious prejudice or confusing psychology. Step-by-step learn how to tap into the Supernatural and your own natural-born intuitive abilities for giving and receiving Miraculous Healings for yourself and others - by connection through hands-on healing and Divine prayer. Written by a minister who was struck and killed by a bolt of lightning and the near-death experience that changed her life and perception of modern spirituality and psychic phenomena! It bridges the gap between alternative medicine, healing prayer and science, and religion and spirituality. Many people are curious about "alternative medicine," and three out of four people in the United States today need healing of some illness or injury. Also in America, 84% of people surveyed consider themselves Christian. (Barna Research Group " State of the Church Report 2001). Also, many others are curious about alternative therapies that they are interested in learning for themselves, to receive or give healing to others. In a recent interview with David Larson, MD, MSPH, and president of the National Institute for Healthcare Research, Jeanie Lerche Davis of WebMD reported: "Research focusing on the power of prayer in healing has nearly doubled in the past 10 years. Even the NIH, which refused to even review a study with the word prayer in it four years ago, is now funding one prayer study through its Frontier Medicine Initiative. Today, we're seeing systematic investigations - clinical research - as well as position statements from professional societies supporting this research, federal subsidies from the NIH, funding from Congress...all of these studies, all the reports, are remarkably consistent in suggesting the potential measurable health benefit associated with prayer or spiritual interventions." The changing world of Healthcare - The American Medical Association (AMA) now considers many different methods of healing as Complementary Alternative Medicine, or CAM. Perhaps the major "unspoken" reason why U.S. health practitioners are looking at alternative medicine - is because they're losing billions of dollars every year to alternative therapies! It has come down to literally, "jumping on the band wagon or getting left behind." Is it any wonder that most medical colleges are now adding a variety of new alternative programs, however reluctantly, to their regime? Duke, Dartmouth, and Yale are just a few universities who conduct studies on prayer and health regularly. Prayer Changes Physical and Emotional Health Too. Science is setting out to prove what most of the faithful already know - that prayer heals. This book has individual chapters on physical, emotional, and spiritual healing; and also the "taboo" subjects of barriers to healing and exorcism. The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide may be heralded as one of the most profound, influential, and controversial books of the new century. Why? Because it reveals the power of Free Will to make a supernatural healing connection in your lives. And each reading will lead you to a new level of understanding, ability and insight, as it undeniably expands, and positively changes, your own reality, in a miraculous way!

This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
Whether you are a Christian or not, whether you believe in God or a Force of Life, this is a powerful and inspiring book that documents the amazing healing energies available to all of us. Written by a truly gifted healer, Tiffany Snow nevertheless assures us that we are all capable of healing if we learn how to tap into the divine energies and call upon the God of our knowing to work through us. Her book is filled with powerful stories of healing, scientific and medical research that backs up the spiritual claims of healing, her own profound personal experiences, and plenty of information on learning to tap into the divine energy that facilitates true healing. This is a wonderful book and should be on the shelf of any spiritual seeker who truly wants to improve their own world, as well as the world as a whole. When we heal ourselves, we can then heal others, and eventually we have a much kinder, more loving world to live in. Kudos to Tiffany Snow for providing us with all the tools we could possibly need to become healers and positive forces for good in the world. REV. Worth its weight in Gold - complete how-to book on Healing,
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
I bought this book from Tiffany's website before it even came out on Amazon - and it's truly worth any effort to get one. I have been involved with energy healing for over 20 years, and still learned new things from this book. Many fellow healers have become sick over the years, and this book answers many reasons why, and what to do to prevent it. Also, the chapter on barriers to healing is a very interesting one, a topic that is not addressed often or thoroughly. This is a well-rounded book, for the new healer, and the experienced one. For those wishing to be healed themselves, it gives an inside track on what the process is, and the variation of results, from their part in it. I'm recommending this book to my friends and clients alike.

Reiki and Prayer,
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
This is the first book that I have seen that openly puts Reiki and prayer together. As a traditional Reiki Master, and a registered nurse, I was impressed by the delicacy of handling the spiritual values of healing with the more traditional ones. The author (who is a minister and a Master)holds that hands-on-healing goes by many names, and all can be better utilized by augmentation with prayer. In my state of California, Reiki practitioners can also be providers of continuing education classes to nurses, authorized by the CA-BON (California State Board of Nursing). Alternative medicine is being recognized in many facets, as scientific research catches up to the realities of alternative quality care, less contraindications and lower medical costs per patient. This book outlines much research, case histories and personal recommendations by the author, besides answering many questions that come up about the healing process. As to depth of material, I would say that new healers and the more adept ones will benefit, as will anyone who wishes to heal themselves. Each chapter is divided into several parts, such as physical healing, emotional healing, and spiritual healing, remote healing, group healing, etc. Although it is written from a Christian aspect, it is not overly preachy with reference to the Divine Source, which is called by many names in this book. I've been a Reiki Master for 12 years now, and much of what is written here I have had to learn by trial and error. And there were a few new things found that I plan on implementing.

Expands the mind - good read,
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
This is not a typical book - it does not repeat what every other book says about hands-on healing. It expands the reader to a place of heightened awareness by logical presentations and commonsense.
Where it touches on science I find it to be accurate, and where it talks about "The Divine" it does not preach. There are things here that many books do not dare to address - such as why healing doesn't happen, the power of disbelief and belief, establishing a resonance between healer and healee, the importance of ceremony and ritual to activate the heaven/earth connection, etc. With the vast amount of books being produced these days by every person under the sun (including those who have taken weekend courses and pronounce themselves a healer) I find Tiffany Snow authentic in her reasoning, concrete in her conclusions and unique in her ideas. A good read for anyone involved in healing, even if you've been doing it 30 years, like me.

You've Got to Have This One - Religion, Reiki, and Science,
By "reikihands2" (Garden Grove, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
I came across this book while doing research for religion and alternative healing. This is a great book. The effect of religion on mental and physical health is approached with a very critical and great perspective. Tiffany Snow has a down to earth way of explaining her vast experiences and practical methods of helping and healing many people, and ties in science along the way, and one of the better known hands-on modalities used now in the hospitals, Reiki. She has a real and powerful connection with the divine and does not abuse that gift. This book empowers us to make positive changes in our lives and the world. You understand that you can do anything that you set your mind to, when you connect with God, through Prayer. Tiffany's greatest gift is in sharing her knowledge and encouraging others to do good in the world. This book is a great blessing to those who read it. Buy it without a doubt.

Place it in your doctor's hands,
This review is from: The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle (Paperback)
Heal yourself and others too - this book should be required reading for both health professionals, and lay people. As a Christian, I would also suggest it as a possible study for small groups. This book compares favorably to Francis MacNutt, and also to Agnes Sanford. There is also a Question and Answer chapter in the back, for quick reference. What amazed me the most was the aspect of seeing prayer as a scientific alternative medicine, the step-by-step healing instructions and the beautiful personal testimonies of those healed. The love of the author for people from all walks of life is very evident, and makes you warm to her as a kind teacher, while the knowledge is given unselfishly and without ego. I have seen healing occur with other people, but never really believed it would work for me - my analytical side needed more information to grasp onto it, I suppose. Or, maybe I just needed my faith to increase. No matter what the reason, I feel Confident now that my health will improve, I truly expect it to! This book should be on every Christian's bookshelf, and placed in the hand of your medical doctor as well.
