A Thoroughly Enjoyable Read,

This was fun! We know a whole lot about the ways that humans excel over other species (and each other). The author shows us why we should give credit where credit is due to a species that surpasses us with some of their abilities. The one review here was so negative---if you read his reviews he often gives one star to books that show an appreciation for dogs. I doubt he even read the book. He's so negative about this type of book, who would he have purchased a copy? I don't like writing reviews but had to speak up. I truly enjoyed this book and have passed it along to friends who also enjoyed reading it.

Informative and enjoyable read,

A great deal of research went into writing this book - so many anecdotes debunked and fully explained, giving insight into dogs. More than anything, the author gives enough information to leave the reader wondering, thinking, hopefully going within to come to his own conclusion on dog behavior. We can never know what dogs think or why they do what they do. It's speculation on our part, but Les Krantz introduces topics that amaze us humans about our dogs and gives us enough factual information to educate us and then come to our own conclusions on the unprovable topics, such as how dogs find their way home. I found his approach refreshing, delightful, and very interesting.

After reading the book myself, I also purchased the book for friends and family who were dog lovers. I thoroughly enjoyed the descriptive stories of dogs amazing skills and how dogs have used their extraordinary senses to warn and save the lives of people. If you like your dog now, you'll love him/her after reading this book! Dogs truly are man and woman's best friend!

One of the finest resources on how incredible dogs are that I have ever read. This is a resource that every one involved in any way with dogs should own.
