An excellent overview of the relationship between small prayer groups, "concerts of prayer", and optimistic eschatology in relation to missionary progress and reformation in church and society. Unlike most "prayer" books which chronicle the author's latest warm fuzzy feelings while praying or latest conversation with some malevolent spirit, this work is a solid yet brief and interesting historical survey of the relationship between prayer and the advance of Christ's Kingdom. Anyone interested in the BIG PICTURE of prayer and revival needs to read this as an excellent modern introduction to the subject. Informative, yet very practical and encouraging too.
