Gems and Crystals - Know no better than before, December 21, 2011

I purchased this book in the hope that it would feature a comprehensive list of gems, stones and crystals, instead 29 are featured. Black stones being some of the stones which are completely unrepresented in this book. There is a lot of information about what the author thinks is the right thing to do with them but too much of it is in the form of " the Egyptians thought" or "the fashion in the 16th century was" and even what the movie stars prefer. Maybe it is just me, I dislike small talk style of writing and journalistic filling in style of writing. Then, at some stage the author tells you that you should ask your intuition which gem or crystal to use anyhow because it may differ with each individual.... There is a lot of (too simplistic for me) reason according to the author as to why some illnesses come about - "problems with your feet often indicate fear of insecurity in stepping fully into life." Supposition, well, I did buy a new age book, I suppose. I was disappointed in this book.
In the final 3 pages the author talks of a stone that told a person "buy me, buy me" so the person took it home, a psychic said the stone was originally at the foot of the cross of Jesus, then the stone disappeared from her room, then the stone came flying past her, explanation: the stone had been to Venus where Jesus is supposed to come from.
I have issues with published, self promoting, seminar giving charlatans.
