To me, nothing beats the feeling of clipping into the pedals on my road bike and setting out on a long trek. These are the next best thing. I use them with hiking boots on my winter commuting bike and they're pretty nice. Not as easy to get into, very easy to get out of, and they allow a full stroke compared to bare pedals. I'd buy them again.

One thing - If you're going to wear hiking boots for your ride, get the extra long ones. Yes, I wear hiking boots. (It's winter in Minnesota, it snows here.)

I am a diabetic. I have very little feeling in my feet, and they tend to slip off the pedals of my trike. I bought some expensive Sidi bike shoes and pedals that click onto them, but it's hard for me to "feel" through the shoe, thus making it very hard to center and click on in. Power Grips are wonderful. They keep your feet nice and snug on the pedals, but you can take them out in a second. And... no special shoes, clips. These are wonderful. I highly recommend them. Easy to install (but you must have a metal pedal you can screw the nuts into. they are a brilliant invention. I sold my trike that had them on it, and now, I've got a new TerraTrike, and I NEED to get another pair of XL straps and hardware. I'm ordering them tonight.

Firstly, there is a learning curve associated with using this product; especially if you are not used to toe clips or clipless pedals. I actually fell on my first attempt. After several practise runs, I'm getting to really like these pedals.

Pros
Very easy to install. The real effort was to take off the original pedals
Enables fast acceleration. I am able to move from 0 - 18mph in 10 seconds flat (which is very fast in my book!)
After a few weeks, the soreness of using new muscles (in the leg) on the upstroke goes away and I've found I can go farther/faster with less effort
With practise, it becomes easy to slip your shoes into the straps and also to slip them out

Cons
Always having to to twist out when I stop, othewise I will fall
Requires some effort and time to properly adjust to use. You may even take a few spills in the beginning. Practise/confidence is essential before venturing into traffic.

Recommended for the biking enthusiast who wants more out of every ride.

In the non winter months I ride my bike to work. I like to wear regular shoes so I don't have to change (or wear muddy mtb shoes to work). After suffering with uncooperative basket style toe clips for a few months, I replaced them with these Power Grips and couldn't be happier. Getting your feet in and out is a no brainer if you're used to clipless pedals; twisting your foot and exiting to the side is the same motion (unlike the baskets where you pull your foot out to the rear). I ride my road and mountain bikes a few thousand miles a year and baskets have always been an issue for me. I would also recommend these for use on a road or mountain bike if you're not ready to commit to clipless pedals/shoes.

Pros:
They hold my feet firmly to the pedals.
They operate very similarly to clipless pedals.
I can wear regular street shoes with these pedals.
The strap is very durable and bolts securely to the pedal.

Cons:
A little heavy.

Note: I wear between size 11 and 11.5 mens shoes (typically sneakers) and the regular straps have plenty of room. Some people found they needed the XL version, but I did not.

In summary, these are fantastic pedals for my commuter bike.

Pros:

You climb hills faster and easier with these. The make you a better biker overall. If your bike was under $500 these are probably better than what your have. Install is easy. They looks really slick. Very smooth movement, bomb proof design. You don't have to use the straps you can just flip them over or step on them. Easy to get out of, after your used them.

Cons:

Hard to get into especially if you have a bike a little bigger than you should have. Once your on the bike, its still hard to get on, I would suggest adjusting the strap to the widest possible.

Conclusion:

Get out there and bike!

Pros:
-Low Cost
-Easy to use
-Holds foot securely to pedal

Cons:
-May not fit big feet or big boots

I use Crank Brother's pedals during the warmer months and have been very happy with the secure connection I get to the pedals.

When the cold weather rolls around, I struggle to keep my feet warm here in MN. I recently found that my cross-country ski boots do the trick, keeping my feet warm even in sub-zero temps. I switched to my old toe-clip pedals, but the cages weren't big enough to hold my boots on the pedals right. I did some poking around, then I found the Power Grip Sport Pedals. Best $28 I put into my winter biking. The angle of the strap is similar for entry-exit as by CB cleats, making it an easy transition for me. The solid connection you get from the pedal straps once you twist your foot straight on the pedal seems to rival the CB cleat. I've only been using them about 1 month, but I am very impressed. Getting into the pedals is a little different than my toe-clip pedals, but similar enough that it only took about two rides to master it. I did have to set the strap on the largest setting to get around my size 11 XC ski boot. I may even try them on my mountain bike when Spring rolls around.

At this point, I recommend these without any hesitations.

Cheers
