I start dreaming about a Power Ice about 1/2 way through my run. They are a perfect way to cool down and relax after a workout. They taste great and I actually feel like they replenish my energy, fluids, and electrolytes faster than a sports drink. They are a little pricey, but if you use them just for rewarding yourself after a grueling workout, then these will surely become a favorite. My freezer will never be without them!

These are grown-up versions of the freezer pops that people buy for their kids. They contain electrolytes but do not contain high-fructose corn syrup, which is the main reason that I bought them. I wanted something for a quick treat after running or just as a snack.
The freezer pops only have about 30 calories, and they aren't super sweet. The lime flavor comes through nicely; I'd have to say the manufacturer has gotten a very nice balance of sweet and tart flavors in this product. When they arrived I put some in the freezer right away, and 4 hours later they were only about half frozen, so they do take a while to freeze solid. I don't remember how long the kiddie pops took to freeze, so I don't know if it's the ingredients or just my impatience to eat them! Anyway, I bought these through Amazon's ship and save program, and they will be staying on my list. Somehow, though, when I was trying to adjust my ship date I ended up with three orders of them at once (I don't think my browser was updating the date properly), so now I have about six dozen pops on hand for the next few weeks of summer heat! Well, gotta go. I have a freezer pop waiting for me!
