I highly recommend this book for anyone dealing with challenging events or decisions. I bought 10 copies and gave them to family and friends.Chapter 8 - Embracing Reality made a huge impact on me as I struggled with the resentment, anger and frustration I felt from the results of divorce after 6 years of marriage. I learned to understand and accept all those negative emotions and let go of the pain. I was able to move on to an amazing relationship and exciting new goals. I learned to make the most of every day and really understand what I wanted in my life. When my partner of 3-1/2 years died in front of me unexpectedly I was devastated. With the foundation I had built from this book's wealth of knowledge, I was able to work through my grief and take care of my responsibilities. The NOW practices were really helpful to create focus when I felt overwhelmed with emotions and unable to function. I've learned so much from this book in the last 5 years, that I've recently started doing the exercises again as I explore new goals and relationships.

I recently came across some old journals of mine and realized how very much my life has changed since reading The Power of Inner Choice. What a huge impact it's had on how I process my thoughts and feelings!The way the book is broken down into manageable pieces highlighted with experiential exercises made it easy to digest and turned me into an active participant. In particular, Lesson #7, "Expand Your Ability To Receive," taught me powerful ways of moving through troubling emotions to a more peaceful place. Now the process is quick and painless. WOW. I read a couple of chapters just by chance at another author book signing and was so totally blown away that I had to get this book. I am definitely the type of person that needs this kind of life coaching and it has really opened up my eyes and helped eliminate a lot of stress in my life. The examples and author's own experiences combine with some very common sense truisms that we often overlook. The best part of the book is finally learning how to get to the here and now and not focus all our attention on the should have's, if only's and what if's that all contribute to preventing us from living life to its fullest. I would recommend this book to anyone trying to de-clutter their mind and de-stress their life. Mary Allen has done a wonderful job with this book; it has really helped me.
