Book Description

May 1990
Two respected leaders in the field of job recruitment reveal foolproof techniques for successful job searching. Concentrates on the most important part of any serious job hunt—the interview. Building on the premise that any question an interviewer asks falls into one of seven basic categories, it develops a systematic approach to interviewing that gives job seekers an advantage found nowhere else. Among the topics covered are: the inside secrets of interviewing in the corporate world; key trends for the 1990s; strategies for ``reading'' your interviewer; what not to do during an interview; and how to negotiate the best possible offer. End-of-chapter self-tests will help you ``fine tune'' your skills and knowledge base for the best power interview possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book! Truly helped me prepare for a big interview, May 17, 1999
By A Customer
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Not only do the authors give 50 of the most frequently asked interview questions, but they analyze each question and give a wrong and right answer. The authors also discuss the seven factors that employers look for in an employee and stories people told in interviews that demonstrated they had these qualities to get them the job. The workbook at the end of each chapter helped me to really work through my thoughts and prepare myself. I feel much more at ease about my interviews having read this book. I highly recommend it. Very up-to-date

By reading this book, not only did I find an excellent guide for powerful interviews but landed an analyst job at a big 6! The book will take you step by step through the interviewing process for competitive jobs. Along with being a guide for preparing strong accurate answers, Power Interviews will help you understand the interviewing process and the mind of the interviewer. Strongly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ideas!, January 16, 2002

This was a great book for preparing to ace the interview. I especially liked the section on persistence. Another fantastic book I found that not only covered the interview but also gave an entire road map for the job hunt was "10 Insider Secrets To Job Hunting Success!" by Todd Bermont.
