A HOT alternative to 'Jock jams', October 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Power Jams (Audio CD)
"In the tradition of Jock Jams, but better, 'funner', and more creative, this is a brand new fresh attempt at sports music, hot danceable, cheerable tunes. The music has a solid beat, perfect for cheers, spirit leaders, youth groups, games, dances and parties. The 21 tracks include specially edited songs, remixes, covers, cheers, remakes, and more. This is the first positive music attempt at the sports market which includes aerobics, dance, cheering, etc. The music here is dynamic, ultra-cool, hip hop hot, fun, and with a positive theme. This is awesome stuff without any vulgarity or lewd lyrics or themes. Not all the music is hip hop per se, "Shine" by the N-BOYS is a CHR sound with special remixing. The result is a very unique, cool music with an edge. LAKITA delivers..." Read the rest at criticalreviews.com an AMAZON Associate

Lives Up To Its Name, April 16, 2004

Quite an interesting concept for a various artists compilation. This collection of up-tempo tunes is a must have if you enjoy your Christian music with a bit of an edge. It also comes in very handy if you need some music to exercise to! Many of the tracks have been remixed, improving on already strong songs. Bleach's "Super Good Feeling" kicks things off in fine style. The remix of "I Will Carry You" by Rebecca St. James is completely uplifting and really improves on the original. And just when you thought there couldn't possibly be another decent remix of the Newsboys' classic "Shine", the "sequential mix" shows up here, and it really kicks. I also have a thing for cover versions, so I really enjoyed Considering Lilly's turn on Bacharach/David's "What The World Needs Now", Audio Adrenaline's version of Edgar Winter's "Free Ride" (finally remixed here), and DC Talk's "Jesus Is Just Alright", which is probably the oldest track on the album. Less successful was the version of "Some Kind Of Wonderful" by Voices Live! - it is not quite as strong as the other covers. The only draw back for me was the inclusion of MC Hammer's "Pray" (didn't we hear that enough when it was on the radio?)and the Carman track. The "cheers" that are performed in between some of the tracks are somewhat annonying, but not so much that they wreck the continuity of the album. Fans of Christian dance music will not want to miss this. Great up-tempo songs that work as a great soundtrack for any workout or party.

Great for work outs!, November 12, 2005

I really enjoyed this C.D. I really enjoy upbeat music, and having Christian music that I can move to is a treat. I often use this while doing my treadmill. It is also great for the annual harvest party cake walk at my church. If you are looking for Christian dance beat this is a good pick.
