This little book has an embossed cover, glossy pages, leaded type, and four-color drawings. There is historical background on red reishi; other medicinal mushrooms (e.g. maitake) are listed, but mentioned as not having the same degree of healing power as red reishi. The text is liberally interspersed with glowing testimonials from people who had various health problems before taking red reishi. A detailed explanation of this mushroom's culture, harvesting, and processsing is given, along with disparaging accounts of other manufactueres' processes. The book cautions you to purchase red reishi only if it has the Japanese holographic seal. There are several pages of bibliography.

The book is very convincing, but it is little more than an infomercial. Incidentally, I searched the Internet for the recommended red reishi and learned that a package--a month's supply--is $93, with a minimum order of two packages. (At this point, I was in sticker shock and didn't even check on the S&H.) I feel cheated!

I am very happy with this book. It was in excellent condition! You couldn't tell it had been used at all. I will definitely order again. Thank you so much.
