Book Description

The Lamb among the Stars September 1, 2004
In the spirit of C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lamb among the Stars series weaves the worlds of science and the spirit, technology and the supernatural into something unique and haunting. On the faraway planet of Farholme, humans live in peace under the gentle rule of the Assembly. War and evil are ancient history. But suddenly, almost imperceptibly, things begin to change. Slowly a handful of men and women begin to realize that evil has returned and it must be fought.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a disappointment, March 15, 2006
By
This review is from: The Power of the Night (The Lamb among the Stars) (Paperback)
First I would like to say to anyone who really liked this book, don't get offended. I just have to say that 'The Power of the Night' was a bit disappointing after reading 'A Shadow at Evening'.

I don't know enat it lacked, but it definately lacked something. When I read the first one, I was living it, in fact I couldn't but it down. But I struggled to finish the second one. I hope that Walley writes a third book that has the same power of the first one.

I gave it three stars because I just couldn't get into it. But it is still worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as the first book, February 22, 2007
This review is from: The Power of the Night (The Lamb among the Stars) (Paperback)
Farholme is now isolated from the rest of the Made Worlds. The Gate to the Assembly and Ancient Earth has been destroyed. It will now take forty years for a message from the Assembly to reach them, fifty years for a ship to arrive. Merral Stefan D'Avanos is Comander of Farholme's military, something they never needed before. Merral's greatest task may very well be convincing his fellow citizens that they need a military or a police force. It's difficult for them to understand that the threat is real. But their world has been invaded by evil. People are changing, values and morals are being discarded. Pride, fear, jealousy, things unheard of in Farholme are now apparent.

The more I read about Farholme the more I recognize our own world. Evil is real and Chris Walley has done a great job of showing it's effect on ordinary people living ordinary lives. The Power of the Night is book two in the continuing saga of the citizens of Farholme. Fast paced, with lots of action, strange creatures, and herioic characters, it's a great second book in The Lamb Among the Stars series.
