THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AN EXCELLENT BOOK
Like the Kite Runner, this is a great come "full circle" book. Hard to put down. You will not be disappointed.

Young Adult Version disappointing
I enjoyed the adult version of this book very much, and thought it would be edifying for young adults. I wanted to offer it to a friend who's a teacher. I thought the author would condense this book by removing some of the description and more adult side stories. Unfortunately, instead of presenting the whole story in a condensed form, the book is only half of the...

I enjoyed the adult version of this book very much, and thought it would be edifying for young adults. I wanted to offer it to a friend who's a teacher. Unfortunately, instead of presenting the whole story in a condensed form, the book is only half of the story. Also, it continues to contain profanity, which renders it unacceptable for public schools. I cannot recommend this book.

THE POWER OF ONE and THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE-Two totally dissimilar books but each read avidly by middle school kids across the world- It helps if the teacher provides a background of the Boer War, Apartheid and the Blitz but after that-the kids eat up these two. The strength of the two is in the "power of one" but more than that both books have stories and plots and the good guy wins!

I ordered this book 13 days ago express shipping (2-5 day shipping) and it STILL HASN'T come in!!!!!! I need this book for summer reading, and i cannot contact the company. They sent it USPS, which is the slowest way to ship something. awful, absolutely awful.

Buyer beware! This kindle edition is condensed, but it is not identified as such. I purchased it and compared to full edition and the differences are remarkable. Full paragraphs are deleted in the kindle edition. Amazon should require its publishers to note when kindle versions are condensed.
The full book is wonderful; just stay away from the kindle edition.

I did not know I ordered the condensed version! I passed it on to a kid I know. I have read the uncondensed version and loved it, so I wanted to give it to my daughter... but not the condensed version:(
