Unbelievable!!, November 8, 2002

. . .that Selena Montgomery hasn't been writing novels for years and years. Her stories engender skill one would expect from a veteran craftperson such as Nora Roberts with acres of novels to her credit. The most recent in the Grayson trilogy, "Power of Persuasion" is a blockbusting success riding on the highly touted first two novels and again gleefully breaking the barriers of the routine romance genre.
A.J. Grayson is truly believable as the 20-something-year-old computer geek PhD whose science and computer knowledge has developed an artificial intelligence system which may predict events as intriging as espionage and military operations. Recruited to use her system "Poppet" for something other than predicting consumer trends and product acceptance for the Grayson conglomerate, she is tasked by a US government espionage agency to help protect the newly enstalled king of Jafir, Damon Toca. The new king is anything but happy about the mantle that has been layed on his reluctant shoulders, but he tries to cope with his new and totally unexpected status with the help of the facinating A.J. Grayson. Mysteries and intrigue surround and abounds making for one of the most interesting and entertaining novels I've read this year . . . and the intimate interludes will have your toes curling!!
I truly look forward to Ms. Montgomery's next novel . . . hopefully in mainstream fiction with the length of the story equal to "The Emperor of Ocean Park" or "War and Peace" in the bedroom!! Five hardy cheers, Ms. Montgomery!!

A. J. Grayson is a fast-rising executive at a
cutting-edge Atlanta technology company. She can
hardly believe her success as she looks back on her
meager childhood as an orphan. Despite her hardships,
A.J. has managed to secure for herself a significant
position with a major technology company where she has
created a revolutionary secret artificial intelligence
system. An anti-terrorist agency, however, wants to
use her system to thwart a plot against Jafir's
monarch. Her drive and determination to be successful
has brought her front and center into a web of
undercover operatives, espionage and intrigue. But
most importantly, it has brought her back into the
presence of the handsome and arrogant, Damon Toca.
Newly crowned king of Jafir, Damon Toca, has spent
most of his life honing his craft as a gallery owner;
but now must succumb to the life and the duties of
being the king. His cabinet has hired a consultant,
A.J. Grayson, without his consent. While skeptical of
A.J.'s highly touted secret invention, Damon is
looking forward to seeing A.J. again. Their brief
meeting at a wedding ceremony a few months earlier

Selena Montgomery crafts an absolutely fascinating
storyline that weaves espionage, political unrest,
treachery, passion and love with ease. She presents
viable characters with depth and integrity that bring
life to a complex story of military intrigue. As
Damon and A.J. battle their own insecurity, they must
find strength and trust in one another to survive and
to find love. Power of Persuasion is a romantic
suspense story sure to bolt you to your seats and keep
you riveted as you turn each page.
