1.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly bad January 24, 2008

Considering that one of the easiest games to build around stylus control is pool (see Clubhouse Games), it is stunning that this game does not use the stylus to actually hit the ball. You only use the stylus to aim and then use the D Pad (pressing up and down)to shoot. Considering how nice the graphics are, it is very sad that you do not actually feel real control over the gameplay. This literally feels like it was made for the GBA and not the DS. Stay away from this one and wait for a true stylus based pool game.

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
When I first started playing, like other reviewers here said, the controls surprised me that they do not use the stylus touch to use the cue. You can use the stylus tho, to aim, and to drag the ball around the table after a foul and what not.. but in order to shoot, you either hold left or right for how much power to use, then hit A to shoot. I think had they developed a stylus system in order to judge how hard you hit the ball, like everyone expects, then this might have been a decent game.

The other thing that bugged me was the aiming system. It was nice to be able to see a 3D view from behind the ball on the table, and a birds eye view on the other screen, but the angles seem terrible. It seemed like in order to make any shot, I had to aim the thing dead on, instead of what I am used to where you aim slightly to the side ect... after a while, I figured out, if you look more at the cue and line it up that way, instead of focusing on the end of the cue, you get a bit better, but still, a lot is needed in that department to improve it.

Other things that would have been a big improvement for this game would be more modes then just exhibition or tournament. You can select 3 games of UK 8 ball, US 8 ball or 9 ball... but I don't get why none of these game developers can't also include snooker and other games in these things? Also, you can see a dart board in the background, and seeing as how no Darts game on DS has ever been any good, they may as well have added that as a bonus game, seeing as how it would be welcomed instead of being a game on its own that no one will take any interest in... except me, but I never paid to try those tho :P

This game was just passable as OK after a while...
